Heck some of them even gave Vick the same treatment the NAACP writer gave McNabb a while back during his time in Atlanta for trying to stay in the pocket and become a better passer instead of tucking and run when Mora brought in the WCO. Once even heard a black guy say "N-word need to stop tryin ta play like a damn kracka and run dat s**t." And again it works both ways, some people love Ryan simply because they like having a white QB.

Granted these people are in the minority on both extremes, but it's still sad that theres enough of them left to make it an issue.

Excellent point. Signing big name free agents is a staple of the Vincenzo Cerrato school of team building.

@wilso: you'd think so but you never know.

Well keep in mind Philly lost to a very good Atlanta team and were down to their third string QB during the 4th Quarter.

Good news is Philly is still using the swiss cheese run defense so those 3 pro bowl corners will only cause so many problems.

On the other hand, Trent Cole flat out destroyed Sam Baker tonight. And to think of how much heat we gave Silverback last week.

Re: Around The NFL week 2

On a side note Vick couldn't help himself tonight when he was going to the locker room. He had to taunt the fans. I'm pretty sure some of them were out of line but Vick is suppose to be a changed man and one of the biggest benchmarks in his downfall was this moment. Not a smart move on his part.

The scoreboard shows 35-31. Guess he was pointing at the other score from the Green Bay/Carolina game....lol

Was I the only one salivating when I saw Michael Turner bust open that 60+ yard run against the Eagles that led to the game winning td? The Eagles d looked pretty mortal tonight, and even though I do have to give props to Kafka (seriously it's like these damn Eagles qb's grow on trees) I would be much happier facing him rather than Vick.

Ah, good times. Except this time with faster backs and a QB that can throw above 50%.

Still I don't think I've seen a game that intense or physical in a while (Eagles v Falcons). Sure I've seen games with lots of hype and I've seen games with big hits but My God they were killing each other tonight. Especially Matt Ryan with the weird splits impersonation a series after Vicks concussions. It's games like this that the rules were put in to protect QB's.

You can definitely pound the rock on the Eagles. I'm sure they will see a heavy dose of Hightower and Helu when we meet.

My oh my, Jason Campbell and Tony Romo are atop the TQBR rankings this week. And will Tom Brady keep this up? Wow.

Luke McCown checking in with a solid 0.4. Why did the Jags release Garrard again?

Re: Around The NFL week 2

someone pointed out these wonderful stats or possibilities while boasting about Grossman....
Quote:
Through two games, Rex Grossman has thrown for 596 yards, a 298 yards per game average. Do you know what that translates to over a 16 game season? I'll tell you, it's 4,768 yards. Do you know what the Skins all-time record is for passing yards? 4,109 in 1986 - Jay Schroder. Grossman is going to shatter that mark.
I wonder how many fish are going to take the bait on this hook?
Further, Grossman is on pace to throw 32 passing touchdowns this season. The Redskins old mark is 31 by Sonny Jurgensen in 1967, so that's another checkmark in the Grossman column! Stick to the announcer's booth Sonny, it's time for real men like Grossman to toss the pigskin.

This still goes in in Georgia? Shocker! lol. I was watching the game last night and couldn't help but notice that all the white Alt. fans had on #2 jerseys and all the black Atl fans had on #7 jerseys. To a lot of the black folks down there in Atl it's like Vick is some kind of cult hero or something. I just don't get it.

He pointed to the score board. No big deal. Media and some fans over reacting.
