From an Eagles Board:

Quote:
Recipe for disaster
Ingredients:
1 Football Team (Cut out the heart)
1 Head Coach who hates the run
1 Soft QB
Swiss Cheese (Preferrably the offensive line variety)
1 Two-sided sheet of bad play calls
1 Faux Defensive Coordinator
1 Cheap FO

Mix

Pour into strainer to filter out linebackers, size, and football smarts
Pour the remaining substance onto baking sheet. Pluck out any remaining testicles.
Bake until it explodes and voila..The 2011 Philadelphia Eagles.

Enjoy!

DeSean Jackson is channeling Terrell Owens: Asked if he was ignoring Vince Young on the sideline, Jackson's response was "Next Question".

Did anyone watch the game? The broadcasters were ripping Jackson because he was running routes and not even looking for the ball. VY threw a pick because he was looking Jackson's way, Jackson never even turned around, it was like he was purposefully looking away from the ball, and VY had to scramble to find someone on the other side of the field and forced a throw. What an ack jass.

That sounds like a recipe for the ages, JR.

There was no excuse for DeSean Jackson, who's still moping about his contract after insisting he wouldn't, to be giving up on deep routes when he's the only deep threat the team has. There was no excuse for the Eagles' penalties, for not calling timeout after a third-down stop with a minute left in the first half, for sending 12 men onto the field for a punt return and having to call a timeout when they were still in the game and looked as though they might need their timeouts. These are the careless, lazy, undisciplined acts of losing players and losing teams, and whatever the Eagles might have been or should have been, this is what they are. They are 4-8. They are the most disappointing flop of a team in the entire league. They are losers.

Re: Around the NFL Week 13

With all the respect I've given to the Eagles front office and coaching staff up to and including this year, for really just dominating the NFC for a decade, you wouldn't think it would be so enjoyable to see everything crumble so quickly.

And yet, here we are, and I couldn't be enjoying this any more. That Graziano paragraph is fantastic. This may not last the weekend, but this is DECEMBER and the Eagles are in last place of a division that includes the Redskins.

D Jax has been pretty irrelevant on the field for over a year now. Change of scenery would probably do him good. But probably only temporarily until he gets bored with that too

Agree, I WAS in favor of bringing him here, but mos def not now after watching his play this season. Incredible watching him quit and whine at the sametime. Not a good plan to get a big contract

I think the kid as issue's. I think he's a top talent. I also think his problem this year is obviously he's not happy. He wants a big contract, Reid supposedly promised him he'd get one as well as the top brass, yet he see's Vick get paid and not him. On top of not being the priority to the team he thinks he is the team is losing which looks like he's having trouble with digesting.

But as others have said he's a professional and needs to act like one. Play well, take care of your job, and at the end of the year if the Eagles didn't offer a big contract you move on. Instead he's only hurting himself cause right now there are probably a few teams that won't touch him do to character issue's, some won't because of his last two seasons of mediocracy, and his lack of effort.

While I don't agree with his actions, up to a certain point DJax has a point. The guy single-handedly won that game against the Giants last season, and was their main weapon offensively. Now the team all of the sudden goes on this spending spree (Vick's new contract, Nnamdi, C. Jenkins, etc., etc.) and they don't give him a new contract? DJax I believe is still in his rookie contract, so once again he's being low balled by the Eagles.

Once again, not condoning his actions, but I see where he's coming from.

Thats my point. How would any of you guys feel if your boss brought in new people and paid the twice as much as what your making, promised you they would hook you up and don't? You'd be pissed also.

Just like Carlos Rogers felt when Hall was signed.

It's one thing to hold out for more money. It's quite another to report and show up.

If you hold out for more money, fine then hold out, don't report and don't play until you get your extension or your release. Heck seemed to work well for Vincent Jackson.

But if you are going to show up....then you damn well better show up. There are 52 other guys on that roster that are depending on you to do your part week in and week out.

I got two words for you Matt Forte.......in the same situation in Chicago as Jackson is in Philly, trying to get that deal but the difference is Forte is busting his a** out there and he is part of the solution. Jackson is part of the problem.

If this is the way he was gonna act, he shoulda just stayed home and continued the holdout. But if you're gonna report, you better come ready to play.
