Another guy who I think should get a look as a HC is Mike Zimmer. I saw they were mentioning him on SC earlier this morning. He's a damn good coach and a hell of a man. His players would lay in traffic for him, too. I know all the talk is about Dalton/AJ Green, but that team isn't in the playoffs without Zimmer's D.
I listen to SiriusXM NFL radio all the time and the guys who host are close with Cowher. They say he said he is not coming back to coach this year. End of story.

Feel bad about omitting Zimmer in my list of head coaching candidates in another thread. He's well cut out for that kind of promotion, something that not many defensive guys are. He's kind of like Mike Smith or Lovie Smith: has the mind to be an asset head coach.

My thing with defensive head coaches is that they tend to be too hands off with the offense. It's not like you want them calling plays for you on offense, but it's impossible to manage the game really well without being involved in the offensive game plan and the execution of it.

Love Zimmer. He was one funny, hard nosed SOB on Hard Knocks.

Jo Pa- Cant Remember if he was a D or O guy, maybe use him as a kicking coach for Gano

Washington University’s entire defensive coaching staff

Turner Gill- I wouldn’t mind seeing Rex run the option

Mike Martz- Would make a great Arena League OC.

Mike Sherman- Didn’t he used to be a good coach in the NFL, Packers maybe?

Jack Del Rio- Danny Smith replacement maybe?? Yeah come on.

BTW- Kurt Warner was the QB and Curt Warner was the old Seahawk running back. I think.
I don't know why when I think of Jack Del Rio I think of him as a LB coach not a ST's coach.

The Colts fired their ST's coach.

Re: Coaching Changes

You guys have probably heard Redskins met with Raheem Morris. Don't know anymore than that right now. He is a former DB coach and both Slowik and Jackson are on the hot seat.

I'd bring him in as a db coach. As has been said, Slowik and Jackson need to go.

Morris would be a great hire I think.

Agreed. Plus he has ties to Bruce Allen from his days in Tampa. I'd love to bring him to run the secondary.

Re: Coaching Changes

Head coach needs to pick his coaching staff - I think the redskins have a habit of picking a "dream team" of coaches; ones that may not necessarily be on the same page.

Re: Coaching Changes

So I got a little more info on Jackson. Apparently he's a candidate to return to his alma mater (Purdue) to be their defensive coordinator.
