Re: Around the NFL...Week 7 Style
But he shouldnt have. The Lakers were named that when they were in Minnesota. There arent many lakes in LA, however Minnesota is covered in them. And yes, the team name was Lakers because of the many lakes there.
Prior to the NBA being formed, they had a different name. I forgot where they were located but the team went out of business. Once bought, they moved the team to Minn. and named them the Lakers. The reasons for someone buying the defunct team was 1) they wanted a team (obviously) and 2) they realized that they could have George Mikan if they bought that specific out of business team. |

Back to football.
Michael Lombardi said the rams are willing to trade RB Steven Jackson for a draft pick.

Re: Around the NFL...Week 7 Style
I would love to have him but dont want to see any more draft picks going for older players. We have had way to much of that the past 20 years. Imo, we need to build through the draft and use FA to supplement the roster, like the teams that have recently won SB's do.

No hell we have no draft picks lol. But for a team that's pushing for the playoffs like GB I'd do it

Re: Around the NFL...Week 7 Style
all good in the hood
one more thing before we get back to football now, of course they want to get something for jackson. they already tipped their hand when they unlocked his cage, allowing him to crawl away after this season. the cards are the most desperate team at rb, do they make a move? historically, they like their backs old and past their prime. ask emmitt smith and edgerrin james
