Exactly. Johnny is all business on the field. Have the naysayers watched this kid play? The reason Carr/Bridgewater haven't stirred up controversy is due to the fact that their names aren't Johnny Manziel. Neither of them have the talent that Manziel has or live under the microscope like he does. Carr will falter just like his brother did. Bridgewater slid for many reasons. The Vikings would've been in better shape if they took the QB the Pats picked up.

I thought someone had posted this, but it had gotten lost within all the Manziel talk. Will be interesting to see what he does during training camp. He probably won't make the final 53, but who knows?

He brings the drama on himself. And he slid in the draft too. Nobody knows if any of these guys can play at the next level yet.

Exactly! Until the "kid" proves he can play at the pro level, the naysayers will continue to speak. Heck, the naysayers are still speaking about RGIII.

Re: All things offseason discussion part II

I laugh at the people defending Manziel, but he's his own worst enemy. Is he doing anything wrong by going out, drinking, hanging with celebs? Absolutely not. Is he drawing uneeded attention to himself? Absolutely yes.

What this tells me is Manziel doesn't make good decisions. If he can't make good decisions off the field, what makes people think he's going to make them on the football field? How stupid do you have to be to carry a stack of cash around? What does that tell you about his decision making ability? While his antics aren't harming anybody, the position he plays demands a lot in the way of good decision making and maturity, which he's shown absolutely none. I really don't expect this kid to go far.

^Exactly. If he had made better decisions, he might have won the Heisman... or maybe even been known as one of the most successful college football players of all time.

Manziel is a very controversial person, but it's because he's an immature young man who was now just handed a ton of money. Of course he's going to make some questionable decisions. But I stand by what I said before: until he does some stuff that actually shows he's worthy of dislike, I'll continue to root for him. From what I've read about him, he's a good person at heart. Of course, that could be mere blather, but I don't believe you'll read those kinds of things about Ndamakong Suh.

You can be a total fucktard and still win in college. There is a huge difference in college and in the NFL. It's not even remotely close on any level. That's the problem why a good deal of these players don't succeed at the next level is because they skated through high school/college on their dominance over the lesser competition. They in turn think it's going to be just as easy in the NFL and soon come to a sudden reality they weren't expecting.

I actually though of that same argument(huge difference in talent), but couldn't pass up the opportunity to be sarcastic.

To the bold: I don't think Manziel will fail because of that. He's extremely competitive, and he'll do whatever it takes to succeed.

Re: All things offseason discussion part II

If Manziel wins, his teammates won't care about this. It's annoying to them now because he hasn't proved anything and he's getting so much attention. I'd bet many many rookies go to plenty of parties and spend tons of new money -- without being on the front page of ESPN.

But I'd still bet he screws something up big-time before he learns. Can imagine something stupid like a drunken car accident, drug-related suspension, barfight, etc..

Rolondo McClain... on the Cowboys. That's a perfect match.

The NFL.com article also says Sean Lee was placed on IR. So I suppose they thought they needed more depth; but seriously, just sign some scrub off the street. Don't f****** trade for a headcase like this guy. Although McClain will probably get his act together and be a stud now.
