Co-signed. This is exactly where I am.

Ward may be somewhere between thrilled and happy for me. I'd be over the moon about the first 4, and over the moon if we trade down. Very happy with Ward, and happy with Vea or Payne.

I'll be pissed if it's Guice at 13. Really pissed.

Thrilled:

Fitz
James
or
Trade back
to grab pick and still able to get one below-

Happy:
One of the DTs/Wil Hernandez/R Smith/Ward

Additional thrillness: 2nd Round...Hoping one of the RBs are there or Billy Price.

Really you'd be happy with Hernandez at 13?

To go out for the 1st round or not go out, that is the question.

I'd narrow this to Fitzpatrick, James, Vea, and Payne.

Our TE defense, and Run defense need to be addressed. I really still like our corners.

Yeah...he would be a long shot for sure.

The only reason I would get pissed off would be WR, TE, QB or Tackle at 13. No player skills set should be taken there...or one that really appeals to me.

Trade down to recoup 3rd rounder;
Draft Vea or Payne in 1st;
Draft James Daniels, Will Hernandez, Isaiah Wynn, or Billy Price in 2nd; and
Draft Rashaad Penny in 3rd

This would tickle me in all the right places.

Furthermore when you got a guy like Vea eating up the middle of an offensive line is going to allow for the rest of the front 7 to better get to the passer. Since when is a NT’s number one job to rush the passer and there is no way he would play 50% of downs.

Chiefs ran for 168 yards against us. And our opponents ran 2.7 yards per rush against us in games when Allen and ionitas were healthy.... that’s pretty darn good.

It’s not that I dont think Vea is good. If we traded down to the 20 or below I’d be fine taking him. But 13 is way too high for him. It would be a huge reach.

I agree.
My perfect scenario is trade down, Vea/Payne then RB/G.

But if we don't trade down I want a true unique playmaker like Edmunds.

Well we can agree to disagree about Vea. He is a freak athlete for his size and will absolutely be an immediate impact player wherever he winds up imo.Not sure why everyone seems to think this guy is a reach at 13 but time will tell.
Anyway there is no scenario where we trade down and still get him. We might be able to trade down and still get Payne which would be ok. I just think Vea is going to be a beast.

Champions are built in the trenches and Vita effin Vea is a huge piece of trench with unbelievable speed and agility for his size.

cooleys film breakdown did it for me. He’s just not a pass rusher. teams that spend most of their time in the 3-4 and nickel shouldn’t take a pure run stuffer that high. He’s be coming off on 3rd down most of tihe time. It’s jus not getting the most bang for your buck.

Plus, with me personally, i don’t like him at 13 because i think at least one of those other 4 guys (2 DBs and 2 LBs) will be there and i personally like them better. This draft is supposedly pretty deep at rb and interior DL, so unless we trade down, I’d rather get a more talented player with our first and get DT And RB later. Or even not draft a DT in the first 4 rounds and sign Hankins.

We have room for significant improvement at almost every position (save for QB and OT). If we can’t ttade down, i want the best player on the board at 13. If the skins believe it’s Vea, then fine, but at 13 we can’t afford to reach even a little.
