Cut off blood flow, had to have emergency surgery. He's lucky to have 2 legs still.

Unless Grier is Drew Brees. Pass. General concerns plus playing against Big 12 defenses. Pass.

Herbert is going top 10. If we trade up to try to get him, I'm flying to Redskins Park and dickkicking everyone. I say its a 1% chance or less they will but that would be my reaction.

I think we should get the best available qb in the 2nd. Impact player in the 1st and future QB in the 2nd.

Drew Brees did not become Drew Brees until he hooked up with Sean Payton in New Orleans. Else San Diego would have released Phillip Rivers instead of Brees.

That is the winning formula these days in the NFL. Draft a young stud QB, pair him up with a 'QB whisperer'. Then surround him with talent in those first 4 years in the league when that QB is still under his rookie salary. With the rookie salary pool fixed, it allows teams to go out and sign some higher priced free agents on both sides of the ball. Once that QB gets his contract extension that counts 30 mil against the cap, the party is over. A typical 'window' as they call it usually lasts 6 years. Then most rebuild or recharge.

Proof in point:

Seattle - Russell Wilson + Pete Carroll
Philly - Carson Wentz (& Foles) + Doug Pedersen
Los Angeles - Jarred Goff + Sean McVay
Kansas City - Mahommes + Andy Reid

Same here as far as rookies, for Vets? Andy Dalton if he's not signed or tagged.

I'm just going to be honest with you guys. I think we should stick to the script unless our front office finds a guy worth taking. We should continue on building up the fronts. This year we should draft an LG, WR, and ILB.

There isn't a draftable qb that really jumps off the page, I would not spend a high pick on any of them

O line and defense. Can't go wrong. Always make an exception for freak talent at any position.

Re: Alex Effect - 2019 Draft

BTW

Alex was 2-0 vs the NFCE, 6-2 against the NFC.

Now the team is 0-2 vs the NFCE...

Obviously he was doing something right...

You are so on Smith's nuts.. lol. Those wins were not because of him. So you think he had anything to do w/ beating Tampa? Our record would still be the same if he was still playing. He will be on the roster but he is not the future here at all.

I'm not on his nuts , I'm just stating facts. The team was good when he was the QB. U can't deny that. 6-3 was a damn good start. Then it all went to hell. I pray Alex Smith retires and we don't eat that cap hit. If he retires but clears the physical, we won't get hit but if he retires due to injury we will.

The way he was playing it would have eventually evened out. Like I said, if he was still healthy we'd still be 6-6.

Idk man, we had a shot last night but no QB killed us. Ultimately none of that matters ant this point
