Re: The 2022 Washington Commanders draft thread

Maybe Shaka Toney is moving to LB?? He was kinda a hybrid, or at least thought to be, when we drafted him last year.

Still ... I would have preferred we drafted a LB rather than a TE in the 5th.

2 draft spots left --- Gotta be OLINE and LINEBACKER.

For some reason, we have done really well in the 7th round. Hopefully we can keep that up.

He played 15% of his snaps inline in 2021, but still spent 58% of his snaps in the slot and 27% out-wide. Essentially a big wide receiver, Turner was able to log a 111-1,282-19 receiving line in his final 20 games. Turner was particularly impressive as a touchdown scorer, producing 35% of Nevada's touchdowns in 2020 and 30% in 2021.

Big target!
He definitely has that size advantage - according to ESPN's info he's had issues with the drops. Not sure it would make a difference but I hope he takes a cue from Jahan Dotson and starts carrying the ball everywhere until he gets comfortable with it.

Shameless self-promotion. It is what it is.

WR, RB and TE…this draft is about surrounding Wentz with weapons

Getting the D-Tackle a year early to play behind and eventually replace Payne. Smart move. It took me a day, but I’m coming around on that strategy.

Me too, he looks pretty useful too and a real team first guy as you would expect from Ron

Looks like Payne will be playing out his final year here. Not necessarily a bad thing. Not always going to keep every player on a 2nd a contract. Hopefully he can have his best year yet so he can earn a fat contact and help us win more games.

Watch some of the youtube videos (if you haven’t already) he manhandled everyone and is energetic.

At least when Carson goes down in week 3 with a busted knee because of field is made of pudding, we can watch Howell sail balls and miss wide open guys while looking totally lost.

SMH. 🥱

Mathis probably gets 30-40% of the snaps at DT this year. I don't really view him as a backup in the traditional sense. He probably won't be starting right away, but they are all rotational guys.

Show me where this franchise has done anything in the past 25 years to give you REAL hope and I'll stop being that guy.

I'll wait while you looks.

I'll stop in in a few months and see if you found anything.

Spoiler alert: you won't.
