49ers: I'm very curious to see what happens with Jimmy G. I don't think they'd replace him with someone like Mariota; if they are getting a new QB they'd be going after Wilson or Watson.

Patriots: Better option for Mariota, although I think that team is devoid of any talent.

Broncos: Much better option in terms of offensive weapons. But would you really get rid of Lock and replace him Mariota?

Saints: They have Winston and Hill; like with the 49ers, if they are getting a new QB they'd be going after Wilson or Watson.

We'll see how all that shakes out. I'm just saying you can't count those teams out at this point.

If you're talking about Russell Wilson and Deshaun Watson, I really don't think those dudes are going anywhere.

Wilson may not, but I won't count out a Watson trade until at least draft day.

I wouldn't count it out. Anything is possible, but I can't imagine anyone giving up what they are reportedly asking for.

If they are serious about trading him, which they are not, I doubt they'd continue to ask for what the compensation they are asking.

I am curious to see what happens if Caserio has full GM control I got to think he will put together a trade for Watson.

Washington Football Team: Kyle Allen - Projected Starter

Let’s be honest. There’s no obvious answer on the roster or on the horizon. Think Washington should just draft a QB? Cool, but have you read a mock draft recently? At best, one of the projected five first-round selections will be available at No. 19, according to current thinking, and that’s without counting other teams trading up for help. Washington could be a trade-up team, but the potential cost is tricky. Sign a free agent or make a trade? Look at the broken pieces out there. Mariota? Darnold? Tyrod Taylor? Um, sure, I guess. Even if Washington goes down one of those routes — and I’d guess veteran over rookie — it’s a dart throw. Therefore, the safe guess is Washington re-signs Allen, an exclusive-rights free agent and favorite of coach Ron Rivera, and he beats out Taylor Heinicke with a mystery third party (Mariota?) looming. — Ben Standig

I just don't see how Kyle Allen is the QB1

I don't see how Allen isn't QB1 lol

With dwindling options and less than ideal draft position what other options are there?

Rather have TH as the QB, I think he showed more upside and is mobile. Allen is just Bleh to me, another check down guy. This is sad that we can never find a franchise QB...

Re: WFT Quarterback Thread - Post SEASON 2021

If Darnold costs a 1st or even a 2nd I really don't see how he's worth it especially since he's going to need to be extended. I'd rather just roll with Allen and TH and take another shot at QB next year.

Agree. Darnold's fifth year option is 24 million.

Yeah so basically you really have to be committed to Darnold and believe he's your guy
