[quote=CRedskinsRule;604485]Do people not believe Cerrato/Zorn when they say Snyder did not order this, Cerrato wanted it, Zorn accepted (grudgingly I am sure) and Snyder approved it.[quote=CRedskinsRule;604485]
Nope ,nobody should believe them...not about this and not at this time of year. .yes it is. |

Re: Redskins hire offensive consultant
If Snyder was meddling, he would have fired Zorn already.

The consultant was Snyder's idea...Sherman Smith was probably Vinny's.

Re: Redskins hire offensive consultant
What proof do you have of this? Oh I forgot we don't need proof to bash Snyder, every move that we don't like gets ascribed to him regardless of what the facts say.

Re: Redskins hire offensive consultant
Rushing Yards given up by Redskins Opponents this year:
Detroit gave up 143 yards to mike bell (saints), 92 yards to AP on 15 carries, 42 to portis on 12 carries, and 121 to forte on 12 carries. Tampa gave up 118 yards on the ground to the cowboys, 218 to the bills, 226 to the giants and 125 to the skins. Rams gave up 147 to Seattle (who beat them 28-0), 79 to portis (who beat them 9-7), 99 to grant (who beat them 36-17), 90 to the 49ers (who beat them 35-0) giants gave up 62 yards to portis , 228 to the cowboys, 25 to the bucs, and 77 to the chiefs. I realize different schemes, plans, scores, game situations, lines, etc all come into consideration but its not looking good...

Re: Redskins hire offensive consultant
When Vinny was with the Niners, it was not uncommon to hire consultants. Bill Walsh was one. The Niners still do it, or as recently as last year they did. So I could see Vinny's past with San Fran influencing this decision

Re: Redskins hire offensive consultant
I say we hire Bobby Beathard as a consultant to the GM. I think we need another set of eyes to help with player management....fair is fair. Are there mirrors in the FO for them to look at themselves? Double Standard!

Re: Redskins hire offensive consultant
So...Sherman Lewis is 67. Are your saying Bobby is too old? Bobby still surfs in San Diego.
I was kind of kidding about bringing in Bobby to be consultant to Cerratto. I was just trying to raise the point of the double standard that exists with the Redskins and how the FO is not held accountable because the owner is one of the two heads in this two headed monster. If DS admitted the the FO is not pulling its weight that would mean he is not doing a good job and we all know that would never happen. Cerratto has been with the organization a long time and he seems untouchable. |

Re: Redskins hire offensive consultant
so... i guess i'm in the minority who thinks this is a bad, bad idea. hiring a consultant is fine but this is NOT the way to do it. it's pretty clear by now zorn did not want this. just listen to all the effin paranoia on this thread. i know we're fans, but don't you think a thought or two like this might go through the staff/locker room. i totally agree with wilbon and especially jenkins (can't beleive i'm writing that last one) on this: this is compulsively bad management. if you've ever experienced it, this has the signs. personally i'm for "fire snyder" signs at games. seriously.

...at this point this could turn out to be a genius move but it could also be a real disruption. Best case scenario Lewis is really in DC to replace Hixon for the year and get the young members of the WR corp playing like legit NFL receivers. Not sure why the FO didn't just can Hixon and install Lewis directly but this franchise does EVERYTHING screwy (who the hell assembles all the assistants before trying to bring in an HC?). Worst case scenario Lewis doesn't have a specific task and ends up butting heads w/ Zorn, creating distraction and tension. ...guess we'll all find out together
