Re: Madden 2011

I bet Jerry did it on purpose too. Were you using the Skins against Dallas? If so, that explains it all...McNabb would have been smoking their D. Smoke...fire...sprinklers.

Re: Madden 2011
HAHA
Another gripe, I cannot find a autosave function. I just finished the last several games of the season and the game froze right after the last regular season game was over. Now I have to go back and play them again. Needless to say I have lost my will. It's just deflating. |

Re: Madden 2011
I had the same issue with rain inside the JerryDome, eh I still beat them 28-3. I don't think Madden has had an autosave or a while, I could be wrong but I don't remember seeing that last year.
My biggest gripe with the game is tackling, it is damn near impossible to do so. I have a tendency of trying to go for the strip when I make a tackle, but apparently that renders my player unable to bring down the opposing player. I could be tackling a small RB with Kemo and the RB is able to get away. It is ridiculous. I played against the Titans and Vikings, and I bring an all out blitz to stop the run, and both Peterson and Johnson go by unscathed through my blitz.

Re: Madden 2011
I'm still debating whether to buy this game once I get back on my feet and get a job. I bought it last year but it was really a waste of money, I used to be big on franchise mode but even when I had a job up until recently I had no time to run a franchise and thusly never played it much, except the occasional game when a friend came over. I don't want to buy it if I'm not gonna have the time to play it anymore, and some of your reviews have made me especially hesitant. Is there anything that really makes it better than last year?

Re: Madden 2011
The Vikings absolutely smoked me. I can't believe I got my butt whupped like that by the CPU. Peterson is unstoppable.

Re: Madden 2011
I seem to always be good on defense but struggle on offense. I make a lot of audibles on defense and normally tackle using just the square point.
I have also learned to tackle where the ball runner is going to not just towards him. IT is all about the angles on defense, if you make a B-line to AP must times he is going to go right by you but if you anticipate where he is going you can normally take him down, takes practice.

Re: Madden 2011
well my lady got me a PS3 and madden. needless to say i am happy since im not a video game guy and only play madden and on the Wii it just wasnt the same.
so i am getting my feet wet again with the real madden. so far i am 7 games into my first season. currently on pro level which will be moved up. im 7-0, shut out the comp for the first few games. closest game was against indy where i won 24-17 with manning failing to convert on a 4th and goal with seconds left. im coming off Wii where i would go 14-2 in reg season, 50/50 on winning the SB on all madden. but i am taking my time getting used to the PS3 madden. Wii was a more open game where i could absolutely torch oppossing defenders on long passes where i took control of my receiver well before the ball got there. on PS3 it seems its harder for me to take control of the receiver and get him into position to make a catch 1 on 1. so far i am liking it. surprised aobut how lil i was missing from the Wii version which actually has a much funner game play. With the Wii remote you can quickly thrust it forward for a dart pass or do a slow arching throw motion for a lob pass. your running back juke moves you move the remote left or right. with the PS3 its harder to unlearn those actual hand motion controlled features. re tackling, ive also noticed non agressive contain angles work well on the outside as long as your willing to give up a lil yards and cushion vs blazing full speed up the field trying to knock out the ball carrier.

Re: Madden 2011
Actually I was playing All-Pro. I've been more careful with tackling, but the likes of Chris Johnson and Adrian Peterson will run all over me. I have to basically do all out blitzes in obvious running situations.

Heck I even had Cadillac Williams tear me up. The frustrating thing is the CPU is able to run at will, but I can barely average 3 yards a pop with Portis. I seem to have better luck with LJ since he can break some tackles. |
