Re: HGH DR. linked to Redskins Player

Would the league really suspend 20+ guys league-wide simultaneously if there ends up being a big list of patients from the NFL with this doc? Doubtful, especially considering there is no test for HGH for the NFL to use, it may be tough to enforce.

The doctor has more to fear than the players.

Yeah I agree if he keeps quiet. The only problem would be is if the Feds call him in for questioning under oath. He definitely does not want to lie to them. I would also hope the Feds don't involve the NFL Commissioner until after they are completely done.

But I don't think its a detriment if he is told to sit a few games. Maybe it will give other WR's a chance to step up and show their worth even though all they have to do is wait until mid season when Moss gets another pulled hammy or groin muscle.

Even if it all does blow up fast and he gets the 4 games off...

Dallas
Houston
St. Louis
Philly

Not too bad...he's back before tougher games like Indy.

Him telling the Feds the truth and having a presser 20 minutes later are two different things. I'm sure he's all lawyered up by now, so he should be aware of what he can and should be talking to them about if they, per chance, knock on his door.

In opinion this appears to be a case of a guy trying to get back on the field and not one trying to get a competitive edge.

All it takes is one of those guys to talk & it makes that list valid. IMO.

why? if anything i would think goodell would jump at the opportunity to set an example. that is if there is the evidence they are saying there is

Santana's already got his defense lined up...he was worried about Brian Cushing's tumor

Re: HGH DR. linked to Redskins Player

Yeah if he is forced into a position where he has to answer questions in open court then we have to worry a la Rodney Harrison in 2007, Goodell just stuck one of his security henchmen in the court room and once Harrison testified to having purchased HGH...BOOM suspended, right now though it works in his favor that investigators have already said players are not the target here. Also one player who was in the affidavit stated that he had never "knowingly" taken HGH from Galea. Being that there is no test, and the implications of the statement I wonder if Moss could say "He treated me, I didn't know it was HGH if it was that but I was never told at any point that HGH was being used on me" then Galea testifies that it was HGH and you have conflicting accounts of what took place, that should be enough to stave off a suspension based on the fact that the player never said he used and there is no test to prove he did. Goodell can't suspend someone in good faith when there is no admission of guilt and no test to prove guilt.

Galea would be smart to plead out anyway, he can't really expect to win this case.

Re: HGH DR. linked to Redskins Player

Also, the NFL stance on PED usage states that ultimately players are responsible for what they put into their bodies.

This stance doesn't really take into account the possiblity that a player can pay a health professional for treatment of an injury at which point they relinquish control to the health professional. I realize a doctor is always supposed to tell you exactly how he plans to treat an injury but what if this guy Galea just went ahead and did what he felt was in the player's best interest to heal the injury and neglected to disclose the nature of the treatment as it pertained to the NFL PED policy. I only bring this up because apparently this doctor was pretty well respected in the sports medicine community and had a tremendous patient roster with some very notable names on it.

Re: HGH DR. linked to Redskins Player

Well, Santana is good for disappearing for 4 to 6 games anyway, so ... no big loss.

If this turns about to be true, a big ol' F U goes out to Santana Moss. Should've dumped his ass about three years ago.

I also don't think Moss will be the only Redskin name to emerge if more names are released
Does this have anything to do with that?

Re: HGH DR. linked to Redskins Player

Anyone else notice the "Doctor Prescribed HGH" and "GenF20 HGH Releaser" Google ads below Busters post at the top of the page? It seems to me that like most things it can be abused, but it also can be used in a very beneficial manner. Maybe the NFL should revisit their stance on HGH and how it is used to treat injuries.
