Rex Grossman I don't think Beck would be any better but Grossman came out flat and he has to be more aware of the rush and protect the ball.

Kyle Shanahan I'm a big fan, but his playcalling was extremely suspect today. He completely abandoned the run, especially after Hightower had such a nice drive culminating in a TD. It's one thing to be aggressive, but running actually helps you be aggressive. And why make a substitution with no timeouts left in the first half and under a minute to go. We had the momentum going and killed it.

DeAngelo Hall Sure, you can blame Haslett for the all out blitz on 3 and 21 but if you're going to talk the talk like Hall does you better be able to back it up and give your DC confidence that you can handle a 1-1 assignment

Jammal Brown After TW basically handled Ware all night, Brown basically escorted him into the Redskins backfield

People Who Keep Blaming The Media **** all of you

We blew a huge chance tonight to go 3-0 and 2-0 in the division. We're 2-1 which is not 0-3 as some may be thinking after tonight but we can't let repeated chances pass us by as they did tonight.

On Kyle Shanahan's play calling: He seems rather hit or miss when it comes to red zone play calling. I, too, can't understand why he started to abandon the run - we have two very capable running backs, we need to use them.

Rex Grossman: I noticed in the Cards game that he seemed to make some very slow decisions - such as the wide open pass to Fred Davis that if thrown on time, would have resulted in six points. He needs to play a complete game. I believe if he has another terrible game against the Rams, Mike needs to think about starting John Beck.

D. Hall: Hall needs to keep his mouth shut. If he wants to be considered one of the top corners in the league, then having one on one coverage against any one of those Dallas WRs should have been cake for him. I'm growing more frustrated with him as time goes on.

J. Brown: Agreed completely!

Media: Only thing that makes me sick was the love fest for Tony Romo. If I hear more about how he is such a warrior for playing with broken ribs and a punctured lung, I will become homicidal.

Re: Smoot Lays the Smack Down (Redskins at Cowboys)

Honestly when I saw the 3rd and 21 all out blitz look, I thought we'd bring everyone but Laron who would drop deep into coverage...That didn't happen and is a major reason why were what we are.

And NOBODY on this board should be saying "We should beat the rams easily" I have to look no further back than last week on this board when people said that we'd crush the cowboys last night with all their injuries.

I don't know how anyone could be upset with a defense that didn't yield one touchdown.

TOTALLY
How many times did the D make a great stop for our ineffectual O? No...you cannot fault the D for this loss. The Defense provided many opportunities and the Cowboys Center provided many more. It is the Offense fault as this game should have been 48-18...Skins.
Rebuilding is a......rough road. I may not live through it

I like the optimism but don't we say that every year and lose. Seems like we play them every year.

After watching that offense last night, not close to an easy win.

I was actually pretty damn proud of how the D played. Not giving up touchdowns, knocking the sh*t outta people, getting a couple turnovers. Really not much more you can ask for, unless your askin Kyle and Rex to **** up the offense, especially in the red zone or throwing a pick deep in your own territory, or special team effing up another kick.

Re: Smoot Lays the Smack Down (Redskins at Cowboys)

If the Redskins were more willing to offer their players up for interviews and features there would be more. Not going to divulge much more, but there was a story (a positive one) that got squashed by the team. Maybe some other time. But, and I've said this before, hate Jerry Jones all you want but as a media partner you won't find more cooperative owners than him or organizations than the Cowboys. Is it self-serving for them? Sure, but they know what they're doing

And maybe you missed where Young praised Rex

And on a national scale Vick, Peyton, and even Romo are much bigger deals.

The reality is that more people tune into their local regional sports network or even radio for pregame. You may be more likely to watch ESPN's pregame show the night the Redskins are playing than on other nights but it's a national show meant for a broad audience. I've said it before myself, if I want Redskins news I'm not going to ESPN as my primary source. There are better local options.

Ya I saw it... then they immediately cut back to one of the guys saying "I'm still trying to process the Rex is a top-10 QB comment". They can't even give 2 seconds for the nice comment to sink in.

I understand everything you're saying, but I think it's wrong. It's insulting to turn on MNC when the Skins are playing, and have to see the whole 90 minutes devoted to our rivals. Romo's one thing but to spend so much time on Vick... it's a slap in the face. Guess we've kind of earned that treatment though.

I still say it's time for SSPN.

I'd tell you to tune into CSN's pregame show, but you're in Canada, so idk what to tell you. But SS is right, unfortunately MNC is a national broadcast, so expect it to cover more nationally prominent items. I watched CSN's pregame yesterday and even though it was pretty boring and mundane it was at least all about the Redskins, which I enjoyed.

They should have given two full minutes to a graphic where Rex is compared one-by-one to every other starting QB in the NFL as of Week 3 in 2011 with a simple question:
Which guy do you want NEXT WEEK under center for your team?
I don't think Rex is anywhere near the "Top Ten" in that exercise. In fact, he is somewhere in the "Bottom Ten". Now if the MNF Countdown folks wanted to do an in-depth bit on the Skins, that is a comment that could have launched them onto a real analytical course.

SmootSmack is right on here. Like it or not, there are other players and other teams in the NFL that are far more interesting and attractive on a national basis than the Redskins. ESPN is NOT trying to play to the DC/MD/ VA market alone; they want a national audience.

Folks here like to talk about how the media hates the Skins. That is not really the case. Actually, I find it interesting how much the folks here hate to hear just about anything positive regarding other teams and players on other teams.

Re: Smoot Lays the Smack Down (Redskins at Cowboys)

I get that the Skins are a "closed media" team and would agree that it is to their detriment.

I get that Romo is a very good QB.

But dear God - the swooning over Romo last night and in the media is just disgusting. I swear it's like he is the second coming. He has won ONE playoff game! ONE! He has choked in the same number and his team has never made past the first round of the play-offs. Can we wait to annoint him until AFTER he has won something significant.

Listening to Jaws and the rest swoon over him last night was sickening. I swear they all had to change their shorts mid-telecast.
