The Jags are looking for players in the throes of wedded bliss | Shutdown Corner - Yahoo! Sports

Quote:
Shahid Khan, the Jaguars' new owner, who made his fortune in auto-parts manufacturing, said he had the idea because he tries to meet all of the spouses of his employees. He said he has retreats in which his employees are encouraged to bring their spouses. Khan figured some of the things needed to be a solid player—like staying after practice or putting in extra work—require a stable home environment. The team's new coach, Mike Mularkey, spoke with Smith about the importance of a good family life during his interview process and just like that, a new NFL personnel theory was born.

"If you're happy at home with your wife at home, I think the energy level is higher," Mularkey said. "It's very important to me...There's a lot that goes with being married. I just believe the happier you are with your wife, the happier you are on the field. I really believe that."
In other words married guys are so scared of going home to their wives that they're more willing to stay late and work to avoid going home

Yeah, I've seen the married-people-are-better philosophy at play at my own work place. My experience is that it depends on the marriage. Happily married folks can be very productive. But single people tend to be happier, and thus more productive, than unhappily married people.

Would anyone be interested in Dunta Robinson?

You mean Atlanta wants to dump him this soon? Guess he hasn't lived up to his contract signing. No wonder they are in talks with the Eagles about Samuels, and possibly be talking about drafting a CB.

Are the Falcons talking about cutting him? This article didn't make it sound like they would...

NFL.com news: Potential Samuel acquisition raises more questions

Mixed talk on it. Some are saying though that Robinson and/or Turner could be gone from Atlanta.

If I'm the Falcons I keep both

According to that NFL article, Robinson's 5 mil is guaranteed this year so no way for them to really cut him.

Maybe he had some sort of fine print that gave him an out? Either way, I don't think the Falcons should let him walk

Sure. I'd take Brent Grimes if Atlanta is giving away CBs.

Gaffney for Grimes!

Nevermind...looked up his salary. $10.281 mil this year.

Jabar for Dunta!

He's an Eagle Killer!

(I think that Maclin hit was with the shoulder and clean....maybe a tad high but not helmet-to-helmet. DeSean just got CRUSHED.)

He led with his helmet and it was most definitely high. Deserved the penalty and fine.

he was hitting with his shoulder, when you lead with your shoulder your head is coming too as long as your a human. maclin went to his head side, its not like there can be a decision in that split of time. Thats why this rule is so hard to enforce, unless the defender blatenly spears with his head.
