Re: 2013 NFL Draft Prospects

The RT we need to focus on ih the draft this year is Menelik Watson from Florida St. Dude is 6'6 320 and has the best feet in the draft, and get this, is projected to run a 4.7 40!! Holly crap this dude screams ZBS and might just be as much or more athletic than Trent. He is raw as a mug but has a crazy work ethic and will not only succeed but dominate at the next level. Id take him with our first pick but he might also be available in the 3rd. Here is a good link, i highly recomend you also click on the small "clips" icon right over his first paragraph.

Oday Aboushi for me. No raw stuff with protecting RG3.

Sadly most of the good players from the SEC are juniors.

Re: 2013 NFL Draft Prospects

Since I don't really follow college like I used to, any potential mid to late round legit playmakers we could use as a 3rd down back as a nice threat out of the backfield?

It would definitely be nice to have a Randall Cobb-type of player. Someone to use like we used Brandon Banks earlier in the year, but, you know, isn't Brandon Banks...

I think there are some decent mid-to-late prospects for that role. Here are a few:

Kenyon Barner (Ore)
Joseph Randle (Ok St)
Dennis Johnson (Ark)

Chris Thompson (FSU) could probably be had late. He is a big play threat but he has had two very serious injuries in college (ACL in mid-season 2012).

I liked what I've seen out of Barner when I watched Oregon games.

Haven't seen Dennis Johnson (or Chris Thompson for that matter) but Kenyon Barner is a speedster and Randle is a Great change of pace back from Morris.

Re: 2013 NFL Draft Prospects

Ok, I know highlights are just that...highlights, but while reading comments from an article on website discussing who the Skins should look at in the 2013 draft someone mentioned the name Denard Robinson. Ok, they said he could be used as a QB,RB,WR. I looked him up just because I was curious but honestly after looking at his highlight reel I'd pick him up to hopefully start the season at QB until RG3 was ready. or atleast have both handy. Plus he is fast as a runner in case they wanted a speed RB package.

meh, i watched a couple of his games the past couple years. not that impressed, plenty of potential, but he turns it over way too often. 5:4 td to int ratio
he's also in the small/mobile qb category, open to injury

I guess your right. He's 20lbs lighter then RG3 and people think he is too light at 217lbs. He's only 2 inches shorter then RG3 though.

I was thinking that when RG3 came back put Robinson in the pistol next to him, or have RG3 throw to the flat to him and have Robinson throw down field.

Re: 2013 NFL Draft Prospects

I don't know I watch the D.Robinson kid and I'm just amazed at his speed, elusiveness, and arm strength. I could see him spelling RG3 if need be or standing in the pistol waiting for the hand off.

The plus is it looks like he played in an option style spread offense also. So there might not be too much of a learning curve bringing him in. I know we have two talented QB's already. I could also see him catching the ball a yrd behind the QB and then throwing down field after the defense commits to trying to stop him from running.

Re: 2013 NFL Draft Prospects

Dennard Robinson is Slash (potentially) but Dennard can NOT throw the football downfield. He has a weaker arm than Colt McCoy
