re: Ravens at Redskins Post Game Thread (RG3 MRI Result-Sprained Knee)

A couple things to note:

RG3 hurt his same knee in college. When he tore his ACL in college, he played through it for a game, then was redshirted.

The Browns are by NO MEANS an "Easy" opponent. This screams Carolina part 2 to me. They have a great defense, and great running game. Won't be shocked if we lose this next week.

Whenever a players knee goes backwards, its never good. RG3 tried to go out but was hobbling and only aggravating the injury more. We'll find out tomorrow what happens. As I always say 'Prepare for the worst; hope for the best'.

My thinking is its a sprained LCL.

This game today maybe a win for us, but it doesn't feel like that to me with Dallas winning and RG3 getting hurt.

Great game! I'm praying for Robert though, a few factors changed and we would be looking at the same injury that Marcus Lattimore suffered and South Carolina. I hope he's alright, and I didn't agree with him coming back in to play. I give him credit, dude has some balls.

Just watched some replays of the hits RG3 took -- it has to be said, a lot of them are his fault. Sacrificing your body for 1-2 yards when the end result is still a 3rd and 4 vs. 3rd and 5/6 just does not make sense -- he has to start sliding more, getting rid of the ball, and realizing that opposing players are not only gunning for him, they outweight him by 100 lbs (Ngata) -- every game the back of his jersey is covered in dirt and those aren't from sacks, they are just from him taking some unnecessary hits. Dude is tough but all it takes is 1 hit to get seriously hurt. Go down RG3 -- there is not a single yard out there that is worth getting seriously hurt over.

ABSOLUTELY !!!

Last time with the concussion he said he got the lesson and will not put his teammates in this bad position again, and tonight he did it again. For him and us, I really hope this injury is nothing much and he gets the lesson... for real!

Its football and he had to sacrifice his body to help the team win. QBs who stay in the pocket like Big Ben take the worse hits.

I wouldn't say he exactly HAD to. I mean the guy was completely throwing his body around out there this game. But there's no questioning his passion and dedication. Dude wants to win, even if he's destroying his body in the process.

Does sacrificing your body so that it is a 3rd and 4 when you could have slid to make it a 3rd and 6 help the team win?

And where in my post did I say he should stay in the pocket? I said he needs to slide and avoid hits completely because, let's be honest, his 218 lb frame can't take hits from guys like Ngata who outweigh him by more than a 100 lbs.

Its hard telling a competitor to slide. Look at Vick everyone has been telling him to slide but he fights for every inch. I think it comes down to him learning how to go through progressions and realizing running is his absolutely last option and when he does sprint for the sideline. But teaching someone to slide that plays like him is almost impossible. He has that Elway factor to him that will fight for every inch when he scrambles.

I love self-defeating arguments -- LOOK AT VICK!!! all that talent which is in a sense wasted because he doesn't play smart. If you're really a competitor, and not an imbecile, you realize that you would rather sacrifice some meaningless yards now for 5 more years of playing rather than get those yards and be out of the game much sooner than you would like. Is Tom Brady not competitive because he doesn't sacrifice his body in the same way?

he was running....less severe injuries happen when running and diving than in the pocker absorbing hits. Ask Cutler
