Re: Choose Your 2014 Redskins Head Coach (Volume 2)
More importantly than who will be the next coach, who will be the next GM that (hopefully) will be selecting the coach? I dug up this list of potential candidates from a BR article this spring..
10 NFL Front Office Personnel Men Who Will Be General Managers | Bleacher Report A couple of intriguing candidates.. Gutekunst looks like he's got some scouting chops, Jason Licht has a nice pedigree of organizations he's been a part of. I know the prevailing thought from those in the know is that Scott Campbell and/or Morrocco Brown would be strong internal candidates but to be honest, leftovers from the Cerrato, Gibbs, Zorn and Shanahan regimes? Thanks but no thanks.

I could do Gutekunst or Decosta as GM.

I say hire Jon Gruden as HC and bring in Jay Gruden to be the OC. Something like that hasn't been tried before has it?

I heard Darrell Bevell's name being thrown around as a possible head coaching candidate......Snyder needs to stay away from big name coaches and hire an up and coming coordinator for a change.

Re: Choose Your 2014 Redskins Head Coach (Volume 2)
Smoot, is Ribary and or Tobin actually being actively pursued by the Redskins? Because if so, I would rather go with one of them (probably Ribary) than to promote Morocco. Brown just seems like wild card to me, and we can see how well the Bengals and Seahawks are doing.

Re: Choose Your 2014 Redskins Head Coach (Volume 2)
I know this is an impossibility, but I believe the best thing Snyder could do for the longterm health of this organization is to keep Shanahan until his contract ends. The choice to actually patch-up a relationship rather than terminate it would certainly change the attitude about the organization that outsiders have. It would enable the Skins to attract better coaching options. It would promote a sense of elasticity and autonomy within the organization. Organizations are like relationships: strong ones don't avoid conflict, they handle it. They don't allow conflict to destroy relationships, they use conflict management strategies to strengthen relationships.

I like him for a wild card as well.

Tobin. Well I know they have strong interest in Jay Gruden. And Gruden is very close to Tobin, so...

So your thoughts are if Jay comes here as a head coach, then it's a strong possibility Tobin follows? In that case, I'd probably be just fine with that.

I want to throw this out there even though I think its crazy but the feeling in Pittsburgh is that Mike Tomlin is gone after the season. What would you feel about him as coach?
