Yeah, that's why Eli got mvp on both of their SB wins against NE.

Alright, back to NFL free agency. Denver is screwing things up in my opinion. I think they should probably suck it up and pay Fitzpatrick. Not a whole lot of options at the QB position.

I agree yet with the amount of defections they have on D I don't think this will matter.Elway put it all in this year so I think he had to know this was possible.

Denver's defense still has a lot of talent. They won't have the elite defense that can carry a game, but still a very good one. It won't matter though, if they end up with Sanchez or Hoyer at QB.

the jets offered fitz 7m/year, he apparently wants 14m+... how many years do you want to tie yourself to a 33 year old QB that's been inconsistent? and do you really want to shell out over 14m+ a year and a ton of guaranteed money for what could potentially be your backup QB?

The thing is what's the going rate for an nfl starter? It's either extremely low on a rookie deal or its 15 million plus.

Fitz has the right idea IMO, he was extremely good last year

but he's 33 and his track record overall is very... underwhelming. we've seen people try to pickup QBs before based on one good year, and it hasn't worked out well (cassel, foles). they'd also be bringing him in to compete, not to be the locked #1.

I understand it from both sides.surely Fitz feels like he can cash in...and with the money being tossed around..it generally seems like a legit negotiation because he is clearly the best qb in free agency right now. The draft class, none of those guys are ready to lead a team into the playoffs, most likely to a 10 loss season.

I think Fitz could easily lead the Broncos into the playoffs

Denver is really showing some fiscal responsibility. However when it comes to your QB, that's the one position where you might have to overpay. Trading for Sanchez? Possibly trying to trade for Kap? Low balling Fitz? Guess Elway doesn't think much of Griffin. They went from SB contenders to a 7 or 8 win team.

Re: NFL Free Agency 2016

Have to remember that with Denver running Kubiak's system (similar to Shanahan's) you want a QB that can roll out and throw on the run a little bit. Sanchez can do that, for all his warts. That's not Fitzpatrick's strength.

They won't feel satisfied with Sanchez as their QB, but they wouldn't feel satisfied with Fitzpatrick as their QB (would you?) so why overpay him.

I was under the impression that Fitz was quite mobile; I could be wrong. I think given what's out there, I'd rather have Fitz over Sanchez.

At the end of the day, Denver either knew something about Osweiller that was terrible or they really f'ed it up by letting him go.

Solid mobility but throwing on the run isn't a strength. I wouldn't say throwing is Sanchez's strength at all (lol) but he doesn't lose any accuracy when going from stable base to throwing on the run.
