Re: WFT 2021 Pre-Season Games Thread
Does everyone feel like I do…I’ve seen enough from Terry, Gibson, Logan Thomas, Chase young, Jon Allen, D Payne…maybe even Humpy (vet who doesn’t need to prove). Those are the guys who are pivotal young talent who can continue mesh in camp but not risk injury in games.
I def wouldn’t play Young again…

Re: WFT 2021 Pre-Season Games Thread
There is limited upside to playing them, the first string offense seemed to be quite in sync from the start of the game, but there is also the chance to get a good start on the season if they are ready from the first whistle, which is needed given the schedule. The run defense and the safeties tackling looks like they need to get as much work as possible.
Herbert and several other major players won't be taking any snaps in preseason for the Chargers, they will take time to get up to game speed Wk1. Danny Dimes is also not playing this week. Starting 2-0 is important if they are going to really challenge for the division this year. |

The next game: I can see the argument for wanting to see Fitz command the offense for a drive or 2…Oline continuing to mesh with a couple new Tackles, secondary and Linebackers needing to see action to work on communication as a unit against live action…but other than that I feel like chill mode on injury risk especially with young guys. Darius Guice going out for the year couple years ago really helped destroy the offense…I def think Gibson, Terry…and no-depth-behind-him Logan Thomas should sit

I thought the idea behind 3 preseason games was to basically eliminate the 4th game where no starters played anyways. The first 3 preseason games should follow the routine of previous years, i.e. the 3rd preseason game your starters should play 3 quarters so they're ready for week 1.

There is simply no way anyone I stated above on the field rest of the preseason.

Re: WFT 2021 Pre-Season Games Thread
I would keep out any injury concerns, no need to push players recovering like Matty I or even AG, but in general you want these guys to get game conditioning.

Re: WFT 2021 Pre-Season Games Thread
After re-watching the game, couple of random notes:
+Cosmi did really good, some clean up to do, but he's a starting NFL tackle right now +Fitz and Heinicke played really good. A part from the missed TD opportunity to Hemmingway by Taylor, neither of them left anything big on the field IMO +St Juste seems to be at ease out there, we have nice depth at CB (and DB in general) +Saahdiq Charles improved quite a lot, if he stays healthy he can become a quality back up LT for now -Hemmingway had a really bad game, a blatant drop and some ridiculous missed blocks, we're thin at TE behind Logan -Wes Martin sucks, cut him now

Re: WFT 2021 Pre-Season Games Thread
I'd play the starting offense until they score a damn TD - in both games. They have to score...period. Yeah there's an injury risk - that's football. But damn, can the starting O just score some points?

Re: WFT 2021 Pre-Season Games Thread
Lamar Miller and Kelvin Harmon released. Sorry to see that for Harmon - would like to have seen a little more to see what he has, but of course the coaches see him every day. That injury really derailed things for him.
