Re: 2026 Commanders Draft Results
I won’t be surprised if they release him relatively soon. If they wait to June 1, it will be obvious that they let it drag out when they didn't need to and that’s not a great look. But this week or next week will give them the cover to say they were focused on UDFAs before making the call. SF has had some issues with player dissatisfaction recently and I imagine they’re not looking to make that worse.

I'm so tired of Aiyuk. We are fine at wr. We have enough guys there that can get the job done.

I still think Bain may be the steal of the draft. Everyone was all obsessed about his arm length, but the tape just doesn't lie. The motor doesn't lie.

Yeah, that dude gets after QBs like it's personal. Relentless. I don't think you're wrong here. Thank goodness is not in the NFCE. I mean, we have enough to contend with now with the improvements with our division rivals. I have a feeling our division will be one of the better ones come the fall.

Re: 2026 Commanders Draft Results
He is a beast no doubt. Think his off the field incident that recently came to light did him no favors. His teammate at Miami Mesidor went 1st round and is no joke at all. Beastlike in his own right. Hurricanes were stacked on the lines last year and nearly won the title. Giants got a stud from there also at oline in Mauigoa. All 3 1st rounders from same school. I expect all 3 to have very good pro careers.

I've been in this camp all along, if he was our pick I would have been fine with that. I think Bain will make a lot of GMs look stupid.

Re: 2026 Commanders Draft Results
LB: Huge position of need
WR: Huge position of need Edge: Absolutely needed some youth at this position RB: Allen might already be the best RB on the team. Him and Jacory Croskey-Merritt should be a great combo. White and McNichols are good options at 3rd down back. Jerome Ford likely got pinched w/ the Allen pick. C: Huge position of need QB: 7th round pick on someone more promising than Hartman as 3rd QB Still need to add some more secondary options hopefully. I think we had a damn good draft, especially since Tunsil is really a part of it.

Week 1 starter Week 1 starter Rotational piece, if not situational specialist Rotational piece, designated short yardage back and de facto FB Starter by end of season? QB3 (practice squad) with Sam gone Agree on secondary. be intrigued to see if any of the UDFA's can work their way onto the roster. While I expect Mikey will be better in this D, and Amos should be a starter for years, I'm not convinced we couldn't have done better at CB in FA at least. While it looks like we've upgraded a bit a S, I wish we could have someone like Downs. I want it all! 😁 |

Styles: Loved the pick. Who doesn't? Williams: On day 2 of being in building is best run after catch WR we have in the room. Not a blazer but runs under control. Great hands receiver. Draft goes downhill for Commanders after 3rd. Mostly because of gaps left in roster that could have been filled. Josephs: Doesn't love the film. One trick pony only speed rush. No spin or inside move. In 20 minutes of highlights only one successful inside move. NFL OL will solve him quickly. Curious to see if coaches can fix him Allen: A football player. Great vision/breaking tackles. No downhill speed and not shifty. Feels the RB room is a bit odd ball with no real feel of running game intent. Is being a footballer enough? Gulbin: Not impressed with his strength but will get his shot. Definitely appreciate his more critical eye. We all know the 1/3 rule. 1/3 of draft picks will be starters. 1/3 will be JAGs and 1/3 will be out of NFL soon. His analysis gives insight on which two are likely to be starters and which are likely to be JAGs. I guess we'll see. I definitely feel like it was a solid draft and I think in 3 years we see Styles, Williams and then 1 of the next three being a contributor we will say it was very successful.

Re: 2026 Commanders Draft Results
Walterfootball Assessment. (Usually pretty harsh on us, not this time).
"Washington Redskins Washington Redskins: A Grade Goals Entering the 2026 NFL Draft: The Redskins have just two picks in the first four rounds, so they need to draft very carefully. They somehow have to both find Jayden Daniels another weapon and improve their horrible defense that has issues at every level. Good luck, Washington. 2026 NFL Draft Accomplishments: Washington didn’t have much to work with, but it made the most of what it had. Of the four picks the Redskins had in the top 200, all of them scored in the “A” range. They drafted incredibly well, selecting either mega talents or great bargains. The Redskins planned on taking Carnell Tate, but because he was off the board, that allowed Washington to obtain the better player, as Sonny Styles figures to provide a much-needed colossal upgrade in the middle of the defense. Then, in the third round, Antonio Williams was obtained to provide Jayden Daniels with the upgrade he likely thought he was getting at No. 7. Washington continued to draft strongly after that, securing a third-round prospect in Joshua Josephs in Round 5, and a fourth-round prospect in Kaytron Allen in the sixth frame. Allen and sixth-round center Matt Gulbin will give Daniels more of a supporting system, while Josephs could bolster a weak pass rush. All of these elements were able to add up to a stellar draft class for Washington." https://walterfootball.com/nfldraftgradesteam.php |
