WTF??? How does Lavar come into this?

Seriously, do you speak to Lavar or something? I think you're stretching it when you Lavar already knew this was coming, so my guess is that you've had private conversations with Lavar?

Re: Who is Next?

I have no clue who should be the coach next year. As long as we keep majority of the players we have now. We have the players to win a SuperBowl. We just need some additions that would fill in our gaps. I actually don't see Cowher being a Redskin. He wouldn't look right lol.

If I would choose be in your list. I would say Gregg Williams.

AGREED. GW is the best for now
snyder already give us a hint a year ago that GW will be the man if
coach Joe steps down.

no reset button please or else we suffer

Re: Who is Next?

I voted AS. I truly belive GW deserved a chance but in his first year I was impressed with his Defense but last year and this year has left me feeling like he does not know how to make half time adjustments. He seems to line up his defense week in and week out and say try to beat me. I know he brought them to 8th place in the league but I'm not impressed with his style. It seems to rely more on LB blitzes and CB blitzes and less on DL push. DL seems to be used more for containment and plugging holes so runners can't get through.
I worry that if AS was named GW would leave although that might not be bad other then players being upset. If GW is named I worry that AS would be looking at the new Coaching positions available leaving this Offense in shambles and JC learning a new offense again. One could say the same about half time adjustments with AS but his system was proven in St. Luis, and KC. This offense works. The question is why was it not working in Washington? was it Gibbs liking big OL to slow for AS motions or was it players not buying into the system or was it Gibbs interjecting when he should have left AS to run the offense.
I don't know...in house is best but if we do go outside for the big name effect then it's another revamping year. Perhaps AS is not wanting the stress of being a head coach again. Maybe he is willing to work with whoever comes in. Then I wonder how Cower's defense would look on this team with the players we have. The DL is not doing well in GW's defense so perhaps the only thing to change in Cower's defense would be DL which we need anyway.

Re: Who is Next?

I don't see why Snyder would screw something so easy up. The team became a family this year. Why would anyone wanna screw something so special up. Didn't they say a few years ago that Williams would take over once Gibbs leaves?

I think all of this is a smokescreen becuz policy for the league is policy. The skins will interview people with no intentions of hiring them. Im sure this has already been explained to GW. I think the team will be in tact next year with GW at the helm.

Re: Who is Next?

Come on this is Dan Snyder guys!!!!!!!! Mr. Sexy Pick!!!!!! I think coach Williams would be the safest bet, but Danny is a gambler. Look for it to be either GW or Cowher. Carroll isn't going to get the job done at all. He is at a powerhouse school in a crappy conference. Hard not to do well every year, when Oregon is your only competition and that is only if Dixon is the qb. Plus Danny has gone that road before with his sexy pick of Spurrier. Williams' stint at Buffalo might weigh heavily on the Danny's mind also. I say just sit back and enjoy the fun with the speclation!!!!! Odds are it will be something totally whack!!!!!!! Brian Billick anyone?

I agree bud, they have to go through the motions of interviewing minority candidates before they can hire him officially. My last post was more in jest, although if Danny gets in over his head again who knows?

If Dan Snyder decides to go another way, please do not hire a college coach. I would prefer a veteran head coach with winning experience. I like Bill Cowher. I hate Mike Martz as a head coach but as an offensive coordinator, he is ok.
what about this, GW as HC, if Al does go, hire back steve spurrier. then we will have explosive offense and a solid defense. we can compete with the pats

Re: Who is Next?

Now at the risk of sounding two faced...lol. I like GW. He might very well be able to keep continuity with the team and maybe AS is willing to work under him and everyone tries for the Super bowl next year. I also agree with other people on hear when they say Cowher had only one SB after all those yrs. He may not be the answer either but GW defense seems to have no DL push and quite often seemed flat ie...Seattle, Miami, G-Men(first game). It's like we whoop but the first half then the second half the other team makes adjustments and the defense is lost.

Re: Who is Next?

Spurrier? please. Mr. chuck and duck? There was no offensive protection. He had no clue about OL blocking. but....who knows. lol. If I had to bet it will be GW but I worry about our offense.

Cowher + Skins = 08 record of 3 wins. Maybe in four years he'll have "his guys" in place and we can be at 9-7 again.
Haven't we learned our big name lesson here? I'd rather have Todd Bowles or Jim Bates over BC. Of course, I feel that GW can get us in the playoffs again next year and be a playoff contender for years to come.
and most importantly he cannot beat the Pats in the playoffs. the steelers did win. when they did not meet the pats
