Re: McNabb a Redskin! (Part II)

I think this addresses GTripps point about McNabbs decline pretty well.

NFL: The Philadelphia Eagles decided the time was right to trade Donovan McNabb - ESPN

Then Reid and the Eagles entire front off are stupid little shits. They would allow their franchise QB to go to a team in their division because thats where the player wanted to go. BS Why would you put your franchise at second fiddle to the guy your letting go. That is also a slap in the face to the other players and fans if they think McNabb has a few more good years. So either they are stupid or they think McNabb is a none factor.

I still think this move was more the Eagles FO rather than Reid.

It's been said a million times in each thread that no team was going to trade for McNabb unless he'd sign an extension with them. Sure there were teams interested but McNabb held the trump card.

And just who the heck picks players on Thursday and Friday Night anyway? Kind of gay you know? We should draft everyone we're going to draft on the weekend. Thats the way its always been done and thats the way we should continue to do it.
Or maybe we had a QB that hung on to the ball all day and never had any real timing. See this is the NFL and WR's and QB's have a small window to throw into and we had a QB that missed most of those windows and either threw it away or took a sack.

Are you serious?! You want to give up our #4 pick when we have what? 4 total picks in the draft and the ONLY place we are not set is Offensive line and linebacker? That's a freaking huge place not to be set. I can see it now... Big Mike, Heyer and the over the hill gang get McNabb on IR week one and newly traded for Brandon Marshall has his diva moment take two when he doesn't get the ball and the Skins lose, ALOT. Makes perfect sense.

Stranger things have happened. Some people say the Dolphins turnaround was due to the overkill of drafting guys up front and that certainly helped but I think without the Chad Pennington signing theres no way they're half as good as they were in 2008. The wildcat helped a lot as well but Pennington was a big acquistion for them and McNabb makes Pennington look very average in the big scheme of things. We will get our Jake Long, weather it be OKUNG!!!!! or Bulaga in a trade down.

Thats fine but if someone think that Reid did this for McNabb then I have a nice bridge for sale.

This is how I see the oline right now
LT Draft Pick
LG Dockery
C Rabach
RG M. Williams
RT A. Hicks

not a bad line especially if we find a way to trade back into the 3rd and get Matt Tenant.

Plus this gives the Skins an opportunity to take a ready to start left tackle in Okung with the fourth pick.
Now that we're not going to draft him I'm going to go on record as saying that Bradford is Alex Smith 2.0. I posted this before but I really want people to see the similarities.

Quote:
Strengths: Is as good as it gets from an intangibles standpoint. Is an outstanding leader both in terms of vocally and by example. An extremely hard worker on the field, in the classroom and in the weight room. Is the most cerebral quarterback in this class. Has an outstanding feel for the game, makes few mistakes and understands the importance of ball security. Is one of the most competitive prospects in this class. A "gym-rat" type that just loves playing the game. Has sound mechanics. Delivery is quick and his release point is high. Is a tall QB that rarely has a ball batted down. Does an excellent job of finding throwing windows. Is at his best on short-to-intermediate routes. Has excellent timing and touch. Displays outstanding field vision. Understands how to make a pre-snap read and does a great job of picking up the blitz. Will make his progression reads, shows patience in the pocket and also does a good job of finding open receivers on the move after the original play has broken down. Has very good mobility. Shows quick feet and is fluid. Has a terrific pocket presence. Shows good balance and body control, especially for a taller athlete. Is a threat to run. Doesn't possess Mike Vick's type of explosiveness but has above average speed. Reminds us of a young Brett Favre -- shows some elusiveness and a lot of toughness as a runner. Good vision and a great feel for where the first down markers are. Is mechanically sound and accurate when throwing on the run.

Weaknesses: Arm strength is adequate but not good. Still needs to improve his overall bulk and strength. He can make most of the NFL throws but won't be able to fit the ball into tight spots that many starting NFL quarterbacks can. Very similar to Chad Pennington (Jets) in this area. If there's one facet of his accuracy that is inconsistent it is the deep ball. Ball occasionally will sail and he'll need to improve his timing in order to be successful throwing downfield in the NFL. He spent most of his time in the shotgun and in a spread offense. He will need to learn to read defenses while dropping from under center. He also will need to prove that he's not a "system QB", as he played in an offense that was wide-open and made a lot of the reads very easy for him.
OKUNGGGG!!!!!

Tripp what did you think about the Brunell trade? I think Gibbs gave Jacksonville a 3rd rounder. What was your opinion on that one? You seemed to be in Brunell's corner even though his skills were in decline. I think Brunell was around the same age as McNabb is when he was traded here.

it could still be a bad line. we don't know how the draft pick is going to perform. also williams is just too slow and can't pass protect. rabach isn't very good and i don't know anything about hicks.

I thought they are projecting Hicks to be at RG?

^ They haven't stated what position Hicks will play. He plays both positions.
