It's somewhat legal I thought? Said player has to leave the game for the next play though, unless the team takes a timeout. But in any event I for some reason thought they took away timeouts for injuries? or atleast it seems like they do that.

So wack, the defensive coordinator should be suspended and the player fined. I agree, you have to nip it in the butt before it gets out of hand like in soccer. I know that it is subjective and not easy to fine, but that was clear faking. At least hobble a bit, grab you leg and slowly drop down.

I can't say I've ever heard that expression...

Giants could have at least had just one person fall, not two.

Re: Around The NFL week 2

Looking around I guess there really is no rule against it. But the league should send a message. Instead of passing out fines they should look at it as if the team cheated and award the Rams with the victory. The league should basically say that because the Giants and Chargers had players who faked injuries then it's considered cheating and due to that the team "forfiets" the game. Rule that if the opposing team did not win the game then the losing team has become the winner due to cheating by the opponant.

I thought it was funny as hell. All teams have done this its just they FU and two players did it at the same time.

How do you prove they faked the injury? They could just say thet got so tired they got light head and alomost passed out and there is no rule against falling down because of this.

Everyone does it, it's cheap and it's shitty. The commish should definitely look into fining guys for it.

I think it's a bit extreme to call it cheating though.

Re: Around The NFL week 2

They should have just run the play. It was obvious that Grant was faking it...I spotted it immediately.

The Giants' D was getting winded and run down the field. The Rams had some serious momentum going and that craptactic killed it.

they have to leave the feild for one play unless a timeout is called. during the last two minutes of either half teams are automatically charged a timeout, i beleive there is a clock run off if they have no timeouts but not 100% on that. it is technically legal under the rules that are in place now, but it's just dirty, and imo it's borderline cheating because of the way they are manipulating the rules to work for them.

it will undoubtedly be a very case to case type of reveiw, but to say the only way to fine them is if they admit there was an injury is not the awnser. in some circumstances it might not even have that large of an impact of the game it self. in this instance though the rams were running their hurry up to precision and had the giants gasping for air and were most likely about to score. instead the giants have two guys go down faking injuries and slowing down the rams offesnse, while not having to burn any of their timeouts. the giants then get a break and get to regain their composure. it's just wrong.

i really think goodell has to do something to the giants be it the staff, the players, or both, the latter being my preference. they did this on mnf with the whole country watching, this is the prime time to set an example.

Re: Around The NFL week 2

How about this...you hold up the game and have to leave for an injury...you sit for a quarter and your team gets charged a timeout for stopping the clock.

That will make them think twice about it...maybe.
