They had enough talent to win in SD. Just couldn't get past NE or IND

Re: Around the NFL...Offseason Style
Then obviously they didn't have enough talent and coaching if they couldn't win it all...

Re: Around the NFL...Offseason Style
was it really needed to be included? And they didn't have the talent b/c there have been teams with worse coaching and better talent to win super bowls..

to say the reason that they didn't have enough talent is a result from other teams winning the super bowl w inferior coaching doesn't make any sense. what are some examples of those teams ("with worse coaching and better talent") impacting the talent level of the chargers players? on an unrelated note, what teams are you referring to that won the super bowl w worse coaching and better talent? if you go 14-2, you've got enough talent to win the super bowl. if your coach is marty schottenheimer, history is not on your side. if you go 13-3, you've got enough talent to win the super bowl. if your coach is norv turner, history is not on your side.

Re: Around the NFL...Offseason Style
well the cowboys and the 49ers are examples of teams with talent but no coaching (Seifert was just an ok coach and Barry Switzer wasn't a great NFL head coach). The ravens defense is a wildcard in this topic because they were so good and talented it did matter who coached them, but they were coached by marvin lewis, del rio, and mike smith (2/3 are still head coaches).
SD had talent yes, but whenever they lost it was because they were both outplayed and outcoached.

Re: Around the NFL...Offseason Style
'06 - marlon mccree intercepts brady on 4th down, gets stripped by troy brown, patriots recover, go on to win. if mccree goes down immediately, as most well-coached players do in those situations, who knows how it ends. exit marty

Norv and Marty are both excellent examples of this. Let's not forget Dan Reeves also had great teams in Denver but never won a Super Bowl. Similarly, Marv Levy was the exact same way. His Bills teams lost four straight super bowls in the early 90s. But unlike Norv and Marty, Reeves and Levy made it to Super Bowls. They just couldn't win them whereas Norv and Marty might've coached excellent teams that were probably good enough to win Super Bowls, but they could never make it to one. |

She has between a perma-angry Jim Carrey face and a Joker face. Add me to the "no thanks" bandwagon.
