Re: RG3 is back

My two cents on RG3 starts with it's time to see if he's the guy that he was drafted to be. That sometimes means (like in this instance) coming back when not everything is 'perfectly' suited to you succeeding. Is an extra couple of weeks ideal? Sure, but when is anything ideal in this league. Just go out and find a way to win. Don't try to win comeback player of the year every play, just get a win.

I'm of the belief that Griffin has been looking over his shoulder since the Cleveland game in 2012. There was always an undercurrent of 'Cousins is more ready/better in a pro system' that he was trying to overcome. I believe it's why he forced his way back last year and also partly why he was so seemingly hesitant in the preseason. He was scared to make mistakes and leave a crack. Now that it's pretty clear that Cousins isn't that guy and there's no long term fear of Colt McCoy, I expect to see a more relaxed and confident QB.

I think Griffin is unique in the NFL in this regard. For some reason (probably 'All in for Week One') every 'next game' is the biggest of his career and will somehow shape and define his future. It happened with the season opener, happened with the Jacksonville game and is happening now. If he has a shaky game vs. Minnesota, win or lose, and it will happen for the Tampa game again. I don't understand the expectation that some in the fanbase and media have that all questions will be answered in the span of the next 60 minutes of football. Give him 8 games this year and then start to draw conclusions. The microwave-ness of Griffin mania is outrageous.

I'm not dead but this team is dead to me...but now that McCloughan is here they may have new life!

Jay Gruden = Zorny McSpurrier
Kirk Cousins = Next Grossman

Our defense sucks when we give the qb 4+ seconds to find a receiver.
There won't be many D that can afford to give a competent qb 4 or more seconds......

If he's worried about KC (which he obviously was/is) then he's not mentally tough enough to play QB in the NFL. This isn't Baylor where everyone loves you. Everything isn't going to be roses all the time. Bad year, losing, injury, fans booing, media and coaches question you, backup QB wants your job. If he can't handle these things then he should go into politics. As I said, he can shut it all up if he goes out and plays well the next 8 weeks. Let's hope he does that. And btw, he's part responsible for "Griffin mania."

Yup, which is why pressure on the qb is what normally defines the difference between good/bad defenses.

During his tenure here, I do not remember hearing Robert whine....complain.....grouse about...anything
or back off from anything either. The kid may not be good enough or tough enough to play this game(time will tell), but nobody will convince him of that.

He just has to overcome all this stuff that's happened and put it behind him. Now's his chance.
