Re: The Too Soon 2022 NFL Draft Thread
I don’t want Carr he’s been in the league for years and hasn’t done much. Good guy and gamer but we have had that with Smith, Heineke etc.
Watson won’t come to Washington he’s already said so. Rodgers? Lmao that’s a pipe dream It’s basically a rookie or some how a miracle Russel Wilson comes. (Highly doubtful) The best Free agent is Winston. I’d take him at the last resort

Good to know about throwing down field. Agree with completion % I just know that no QB ever ends up with a higher % at the pros than college so you kind of get what you get

Here in Washington they inherited Smith coming off a devastating injury, and Haskins who was a lost cause. They got rid of Haskins in year 1, something maybe a lot of Coaches/Front Offices might not have done so quickly - who knows. Smith retired. They have yet to draft a QB for development here. They attempted to bring in a capable Veteran as a stop gap this year, and he was hurt in the first quarter of the first game. Allen is a backup, Heinicke is a backup, and are only playing because Fitz got hurt. The 2021 plan didn't work - I'll give you that. Does that make it a bad plan? Not in my opinion since the main contributor to the plan failing was the unexpected injury to Fitz. Since they did make a play for Stafford, and were rumored to be in discussions with regard to other quality Veteran QBs, you can't say they didn't try to go that route. So the last thing is maybe they should have drafted a QB. Well, none of the QBs drafted in 2021 are exactly lighting up the league right now. Maybe they weren't enamored with any of the 2021 draft options at QB - especially considering the cost to move up to get them. The team needs a QB - there is no debating that. I do think they have tried to do something about that, but have perhaps been unwilling to pony up what it is going to cost to get one. Maybe this year has done enough to convince them otherwise. We will see this offseason. But I don't think there is any evidence to suggest that this front office, including Ron, is incapable of drafting/developing good quarterbacks. |

Re: The Too Soon 2022 NFL Draft Thread
Who are some of the Qb that will be available what will it take to get them.
Aaron Rogers Deshawn Watson Russell Wilson David Carr Marcus Marrota Jamies Watson Baker Mayfield Kirk Cousin Mitch Trubisky Jimmy Garofalo These are the names I came up with. I think you go after Watson. I know all the problems but he fits exactly what we need in playing style. If not him I think Baker Mayfield may be the happy medium we need. He can throw well and can run alittle. On the cheap bring Marcus Marrota in see what he can do you would have him to compete with Henike. |

Heinicke can compete for the backup position next year. He should not be competing for QB1. That option has run its course.

I agree but who do we go after and what does it take to get them. I think we should look at possible trading some of defensive line we probably can't sign them all.

Re: The Too Soon 2022 NFL Draft Thread
Enough with dicking around with journeymen and retreads. Get a stud veteran no matter what it takes, or a blue chip draft pick, again no matter what it takes. Year 3 of Ron can't start with the QB issue up in the air again.
