Re: Sean Taylor has died...
I will miss watching him play, and I pray his for his family.
I hope they find the guy, hang him by his wrists, and let Roy and Landry take pop shots at him. |

Re: Sean Taylor has died...
Very sad day for not only redskins fans, but for true football fans. He was the epitome of a fierce warrior and competitor who had his faults but was gradually progressing into a leader who lead by actions. He will truly be missed by us, the fans, who observed from afar and were inspired not just by his accomplishments, but with his voyage through his perserverance and aspirations.

Re: Sean Taylor has died...
For a few minutes here and there today I find myself forgetting about this for a moment, then it hits me and I just keep saying the same thing. I can't believe this has happened. I can't believe Sean Taylor is dead.
It's just so crazy. |

I'm still having trouble believing this has happened. First Darrent Williams and now this. It's so damn sad.

I must admit that my sadness is beginning to turn to rage. I wanted to start a collection for reward money for his killer(s). I wanted to see his killer(s) on the run and hunted by every cop, dog, and bounty hunter. I want to keep this thread positive, but it is just so hard in light of the tragedy we are all struggling to understand and cope with. |

Re: Sean Taylor has died...
It pisses me off when I think we'll never get to see him play again, develop further in his career, the big hits, etc.
What a waste. |

Re: Sean Taylor has died...
I decided to work from home today (fortunately my job allows for that), because I knew I would break down more than once throughout the course of the day. I was sitting at my desk this morning, and the closet door was open. I saw my #21 jersey hanging neatly where I placed it last night before I went to bed. I walked over to my closet, and as I held the jersey in my hand and read the name "Taylor" on the back, I dropped to one knee. I was literally sobbing. I can't believe my favorite player is gone. I just can't believe it. I'm still hoping this is just a sick nightmare and I wake up soon. I'm am so, so, so sad. I don't think I've cried this much in one day since 9/11.

Re: Sean Taylor has died...
I am real glad I am off from work today. I have been doing nothing but looking though you tube and such watching ST highlights. There are already more than a few tribute vids up. I still can't believe it has happened. What a waste,
I hope they catch the guy or guys. I wonder how long it will take. If there will be a reward. I guess it would be murder 1, so thats the death penalty, right? Gibbs is doing a press conf. in 30 mins. Lord knows what he'll say. |

Re: Sean Taylor has died...
I hope we, as a community, can turn the saddest day in my Redskins memory into something that we can grow from. The fact that a young black man aged 15-24 is more likely to die from homicide than any other cause is the real horror. And it's been that way for as long as I can remember. It is a problem that must be solved, now. Sean's death just brings this crisis into many of our lives in a truly profound way for the first time.
I will always cherish Sean's legacy as a football player. I used to watch his highlight videos for days. You'd think that you would tire of watching the same plays over and over, but you didn't. It's part of what made Sean so special. He seemed to draw from a deeper well of passion--and fury-- than the other guys. It is, after all, the controlled violence and the strategy that makes football the most riveting and popular game in America. Sean was a master of the more violent aspects of the game from the beginning. There seemed to be a purity in the way he expressed his ferocity on the field. The saddest thing is that he was just beginning to control his own violence. By all accounts he was finally embracing the strategy of football, and perhaps life, and the results were paying dividends for the Redskins as a team. Now, we will never know if Sean Taylor would have reached his full potential. All we know is that he won't. It's a truly sad thing and that's why I began to cry today- with all of the other people who loved Sean, or simply loved to watch him,- when I heard the news. Make no mistake, it is the world outside of football that led to the murder of the most promising and enigmatic player in our midst. I think it's time that we, as a country, and as a community, take action. Much like the environment, education, health care and the larger issues that plague us today, how long will we sit back and wait before we say, "Enough"? |

Re: Sean Taylor has died...
I am devasted!
I am a Redskins fan from France. I am so sad for his wife and his young daughter but I would like them to know that even in France, a country where the Redskins are not well known, a country where even the NFL's name is not well known, there are some people who really, deeply admire the man called Sean Taylor. Go Skins!
