Re: Nat's and O's - 2010 MLB Season
Always have, your team manages to finish a couple spots above us every year, not something to brag about.

Re: Nat's and O's - 2010 MLB Season
pretty cool last 30 mins sorts-wise. talked with the guy who hooked up out tickets for tonights nats game. he is head of concessions and getting investors to invest in stadium leases etc.
he said a dunkin donuts is coming to the stadium soon, donuts will be 2 bucks each and they expect the avg rev from a dunkin donuts of 175k to be tripled at the stadium. he said that he has gotten alot of complaints and requests for bars and whatnot outside the stadium. he said they are working on it and when the economy kicks up they will have investors ready to start up bars/restaurants immediately around the stadium. part of the problem of not having bars/rest is that he said all of M street and the surrounding area is controlled by the govt and they are going to make it a governmental area. i assume govt buildings and depts with rest/bars on street level. he said that adam dunn is on his way out, thats why he hasnt resigned. that the team views him as an unpleasant guy that the team cant market around him. and his glove work at 1st is pissing execs off. real real nice guy. he couldnt get us behind home plate or 3rd base like he hoped but he did get us the 1st row in the outfield. should be a good game. was hpoing to have close enough seats to home plate to hear the smack of teh catchers glove as stras throws the heat but i guess ill try this weekend when the nats come to balmore. tis weekend is going to be a f=great weekend to catch a game at camde. os v nats. i believe fri and sun are bobblehead giveaways with the sat 4:30 game being a 40th anniversary celebration of mvp brooks robinson and the Os 1970 WS champions. how many world series have the nats won? how many playoff games have the nats won? answer: the same as OTM! ha edit - also tlaked with the nephew of teh ref who blew the us slovenia game. my brother asked how much has your uncle given you yet? he said no money, his uncle is in a financial institution and doesnt need money. with his african accent its kinda hard to understand him. the guy works in my building, were friendly on the elevator and what not.

Re: Nat's and O's - 2010 MLB Season
I don't know if I'd ever get donuts simply because of the stickyness to them as well as them making you thirsty, but I guess one every couple of games wouldn't be too bad. Still nice to see things coming into the stadium.
As far as I know everything around that stadium is pretty much govt in some way, wasn't the CIA over there? Or is still there? I like Adam Dunn a lot, but you can't blame a lot of the glove work on him, I mean he has messed up quite a few times, but some of the throws from Zimmerman, Desmond and Guzman have been pretty bad. His batting is so-so, but when he does connect he rocks it. It'll be interesting what happens with the lineup if we dont sign him back. Can't wait to see the throwback uniforms, pretty awesome. The Senators won one

Everyone thought the old Strasburg card sold for a lot:
2010 Bowman Stephen Strasburg Red Autograph 1/1 AUTO - eBay (item 200485213281 end time Jun-28-10 18:00:48 PDT)

Re: Nat's and O's - 2010 MLB Season
geez 113k.
one last thing that the guy told me yesterday which i found real odd so take it with a grain of salt. he said that the nats are going to shut stras down in july. i responded that the nats have set a 150 inning count on him. he didnt say anything about that and seemed to not even know what i was talking about or understand what a pitch count was. he said it was all about money. i dont understand it and dont believe it but thinking about it more. maybe just maybe the nats owners either: think they and mlb will make more money having stras pitch in games in late aug and sept vs eating up his 150 inning limit in july or the nats brass think they might have a chance at a playoff spot and want to reserve some of the 150 innings for a sept playoff push and hopeful series. anyways, i dont really believe it unless it is to preserve him to pitch in sept and they are thinking playoffs. but how do you shut a guy down for a month then expect him to come back? wont that open him up for injury? if he doesnt pitch in july, what chance do they have to be in the hunt come sept with the way their rotation is looking nowadays. if it turns out to be true, wow.

Re: Nat's and O's - 2010 MLB Season
I honestly don't see that happening, it could be possible, but what's the point? We aren't over doing him, he's getting us the W's and or giving us chances to get the W, he doesnt seem injured or anything, I don't really see that.
I also read that Rizzo said they are going to make sure they will sign Dunn, Guzman is still up in the air though, looks like they might be trying to get something for him while they can. Yeah though, it just doesn't seem likely to put him back down.

I'm still pissed over this loss. This team is so fucking retard and they wonder why people only show up when Strasburg pitches.

Re: Nat's and O's - 2010 MLB Season
Love the Nats... but an O's fan at heart.
Went to the game in Baltimore the other night, was sitting right behind Nyger when he made that catch. Unbelievable. Terrible game all around though. Over management by both sides.
