Yeah, it's really unbelievable that Pryor would have to serve a suspension in the NFL for something that happened in college. I mean, if you get expelled from high school, and start a job, it's not like they can dock your pay for being expelled right? I understand its not apples to apples but that's kind of what it feels like.

This is the same situation. College players continue to break serious rules over and over again because they can leave college ball for NFL and not suffer any punishment. What kind of message does that send to the young elite high school players being heavily recruited by college teams?
You want NFL players that are good citizens, it starts before they get here. The college system and the NFL work hand in hand and needs creative changes. This is an attempt to hold the players accountable. I like it. It iwll make players think twice before going with the flow of rule breaking..
This cost Pryor millions of dollars.
Thats the way it used to work in the US, if one could get to the state line before being caught you were off the hook. Thats how Bonnie & Clyde did it. As you know, the laws have now changed. I dont see the NFL and college as 2 equal states, I see them as different countries. I am not subject to French laws living here in the US and I dont think college players are subject to NFL rules when they arent in the NFL. The NFL doesnt have jurisdiction in college.

Goodell suspended Pryor with approval of NFLPA | ProFootballTalk

Terrelle Pryor AP
It’s still not clear how Commissioner Roger Goodell had the ability to suspend former Ohio State quarterback Terrelle Pryor for five games based on “decisions that undermine the integrity of the eligibility rules for the NFL Draft.”

The NFLPA appears to be on board with the penalty. Per a source with knowledge of the situation, the NFLPA agreed with the intended approach.

A line must be drawn....somewhere. The BS that is going on in Pro and Collegiate sports has to be dealt with rather than turning a blind eye....See "The U"....See The U and Collegiate Armageddon.
I applaud Roger for his Chutzpah!

No, but they can refuse to hire you in the first place...

The NFL is offering him employment - - something he has not entitled to - - so there is a trade off here.

Re: If Pryor entered the supplemental draft would you pick him.

Now that we know he is going to be in the draft, here is my answer to the question : Would you draft Terrelle Pryor?

I would draft him on one condition:

Both Pryor and his agent (Drew Rosenhaus) have to agree that he will get as many practice reps at WR as he will at QB for at least the first 12 months that he is under contract. That means in his practices this season and all of the next off-season.

I think Pryor has WR potential. I am FAR less impressed with him as an NFL QB.

If they both agree to that, then I would bid a 4th round selection for him.

Redskins should draft TP in the 4th round. We have 2 4th round picks would be a great redzone playmaker at QB/WR or RB. 4.3/4.4 speed 6'5" 230 pure, raw football player! just what the Skins need.

At his impromptu pro day today, Pryor said he would like to play QB in the NFL but that he would be willing to play any position that would help his team.

Absolutely not. I think he's a talent player with great size but he doesn't fit in to what we do here on offense. I would much rather wait till next year and draft a guy.

IF he's truly willing to change position, I would say he's worth a later round flyer. One scout had his 40 today at 4.38, and he's 6-5 230lbs. That's sick.

He's not going to play QB in the NFL. At least not with any success.

He's a WR. Should have been one in college.

He's a freak athlete. He was a top 50 high school basketball player before committing to play football at OSU. As a QB, I'm sure he understands the WR position. Embrace it, Pryor. I cringe at the thought of him playing QB in the NLF, and drool at the thought of him as a wideout.

Did Pryor ever play WR? I understand it can happen (Randel EL), but it seems that it should take more than just size and a good 40 time to determine good WRs. Devin Thomas is a perfect example. Good athlete, sucked at WR.

Would be cool to have him and Beck on the field to mix things up...

I understand the kid made a mistake at OSU, but still he is a prime dona, and potential bad news if he hasn't truly learned his lesson.

Don't forget Hines Ward.

I doubt Pryor has ever played WR, but he's understands routes and timing from a QB's perspective, and he's a freak athlete. If he does switch to WR, he'll likely be buried on someone's bench for a few seasons while he gets his bearings, but I think that's the position where his NFL ceiling is highest.
