Ah, hero Romo, already playing the spoiled princess.

Re: Smoot Lays the Smack Down (Redskins at Cowboys)

LOL. Steinberg debunked that. Costa basically says the defense was just jawing at him:

Phil Costa on Washington’s simulated snap counts - DC Sports Bog - The Washington Post

Tandler had a great post about this today, basically saying that the 'Boys are doing an awful lot of complaining for a team that won the game, between the snap count whining and Ware complaining about holding calls (seriously, another team bitching to US about holding? Brian Orakpo weeps for you, really)

Personally, this feels to me like a team who feels like they need to justify why they played so poorly instead of really believing they were the better team and "gutted out a win". And we ought to know since most of our wins over the past decade have been in the "played their guts out" vein.

A google news search for "snap count penalty" shows that Hasselbeck claims the Titans were doing it against him, and the only other reference I could find was Brian Billick doing a lot of bitching and moaning about the Jets doing it to the Ravens in '07.

If we were caught doing this in this decade, I couldn't find any evidence of it.

Not only that, but Romo was strangely silent when PRO BOWLER Gurode was tossing bad shotgun snaps when he least expected it.

I don't blame the media. How can you? I am just pissed that they are so right so often about our team and love the Boys.

The thing I hate about the media is they are talking like Romo is that Sully the airplane pilot that landed the plane in the hudson. He played with a broken rib. So have other QBs, better and as good as him. And I'm sure those QB's didn't mention it to the whole public like his dumbass

A buddy and I were watching the game and he said Romo looks like LeBron out there, whining after every play, yelling at his teammates, throwing up his hands, making this exasperated face like he deserves better.

Then you hear Jaworski praising the guy for "educating the youngsters on the field" and it's impossible not to laugh.

If I'm being honest, it's a great story for an undrafted QB to come in and put up the numbers he has, and if he played for any team or owner other than Dallas, I'd probably think, "hey, that's great." But he plays for Jerry, on the most pretentious team in football.

Hell, I can't believe I'm admitting this but I was rooting for Wade Phillips watching the Texans this week. They're my 2nd favorite team (how can you not like Schaub to Andre Johnson?) and it's amazing how much less of a douchebag Wade seems now that he's several hundred miles away from the Jerrydome...

Anyone else think that Cooley looked slow, and not the usual slow where he breaks 100 tackles. I'm talking about slow slow after the catch he just looked like he didn't have any gas in the tank?

Re: Smoot Lays the Smack Down (Redskins at Cowboys)

I finally watched the game on NFL rewind...which sucks...I had to take a nap so I could watch the game midnight Wed morning which was the soonest they play it...
Not suprised at all.
Our redzone continues to suck, although our kicker is improved.
The Redskins continue to invent new ways to lose games that they should win.
As I predicted earlier..this is a 7-9 team better than last year and competitive...but clearly not a winner yet....give us another decade or two (or a change in ownership) and we may eventually see a 17th game.

All I can say is Gibbs was a lot better than most of you give him credit for in Gibbs 2.0....possibly better than the Superbowl teams with really solid talent.

Yeah, his avg YAC is terrible right now (1.8). This is a guy who was averaging over 7.0 YAC under Gibbs 2.0, and even managed 6-ish under Zorn. Last year he fell to barely over 5.

Lest anybody think that was a fluke of the new offense, Sellers had a 7.6 YAC average last year on 20 receptions. I think Cooley is just wearing down.

Man, I wish Kerrigan wouldn't of got caught in empty space on that big 3rd and 21. After re-watching the play a few times.. If Kerrigan actually keeps coming up field, then he hurries Romo into a quicker throw, or even gets a sack.

Instead he starts to back off and play coverage and it gives Romo more time to make the play down field.. I guess he finally showed his "rookie-ness"

Well, Kerrigan was one of the few guys on that play actually executing his assignment. Is it a better outcome if he just goes straight to Romo and leaves the back? Sure, but then he's not executing his assignment, and the back is uncovered.

Can we smackdown posts like this?

How could the third game of the season confirm your prediction that this is a 7-9 team?

How would you know what his assignment was? Looked to me like a 0 Blitz, and Kerrigan started to follow the back.. Didn't seem to be in man coverage with the RB..

But I guess we wont ever know.
