Second one is definitely not true. They almost gave up 400 yards of offense and kept giving up big play after big play. They needed 32 points to win the game. Tom Brady had to throw the ball almost 50 times for 350 yards and 3 touchdowns. |

Shhhh he is compiling numbers to show you how Brady had nothing to do with those superbowls. Also to show you he is top five all time and awful, great, lucky, unlucky, handsome, ugly, rich, poor, fat, skinny and bald with a head full of luscious hair. |

Re: Super Bowl Gameday Thread
Where do people rank him compared to Manning now? Especially comparing how they played in the Super Bowl vs. similar teams.
Also thinking about the great season Manning had last year. |

Re: Super Bowl Gameday Thread
Manning is/was great in his own right, but it's no question Brady had the more successful career since he got it done when it counts. Manning and Brady went up against a very similar team in the biggest game of the year and Brady won, whereas Manning got demolished. Even if Manning came back and won another trophy I still think Brady had the better career.

I always want to give Manning the edge, but not sure i can anymore. I would love to somehow plug Manning into last nights game with all variables being the same and see what would have happened? Is Manning a choker? |

Re: Super Bowl Gameday Thread
I don't think Manning is a choker.
I think the problem with Manning has been when the game gets ugly it gets really ugly for him. Playoff games are often ugly which is why manning has struggled. I think he pays too much attention to the smallest detail (part of what makes him great) and when those things don't go his way he makes terrible mistakes. I also think he has only had a truly elite defense one or two times in his career as opposed to Brady having an elite D for his first 3 super bowls (He hasn't had a truly elite defense since then though). But to call him a choker has always been too much in my opinion. |

Re: Super Bowl Gameday Thread
Manning and Brady are both all time greats. This constant need to rank them is exhausting.

Re: Super Bowl Gameday Thread
Both are walking into the HOF but Brady has always been the better QB IMO. Manning can't play in bad weather like Brady can. Manning has also had too many bad playoff games. Let's face it, you're judged in the big games. In the big games, Brady's been the better player. End of discussion.

Re: Super Bowl Gameday Thread
the game was awesome.
serious drama in seattle. did bevel not run the ball to give Lynch the middle finger? did bevel call the pass to make wilson the MVP and set up a very profitable marketing campaign to coincide with wilson's soon to be mega contract? is lynch and his followers going to revolt? retire? does bevel, quinn and lynch exits = end of seahawks run? does wilson become pedestrian once lynch is gone and the D isnt shut down? like the sands of an hour glass, these are the days of our lives.

Re: Super Bowl Gameday Thread
I can understand what Bevel was thinking. It's 2nd and goal with 1 timeout. If you get stuffed again on 2nd down you're forced to throw on 3rd down. Sometimes coaches outsmart themselves. I'd rather go down with 3 straight beast mode runs, nobody would have faulted them for that.

I think ranking any player at any position is silly because there are just to many variables at play. Rank RB's - well who had the better oline? Rank Wr's - well who had the better QB? The more interesting question is if you were starting a franchise tomorrow which guy would you take? That way it is based solely on your eye test. |
