Won’t be long before he pops off to the media again, guaranteed

“I’m quite disappointed to be honest with you,” Gruden said of Swearinger’s latest comments.

“We made it pretty clear that we try to keep our business within these walls and we’ve had many a talk before about that, and unfortunately he chose to go to the media again and talk about his displeasure with some of the calls. I know Coach Manusky works extremely hard as does the rest of the staff.”

Monte Nicholson was outright horrible this year...HaHa is a scapegoat here and that's fine, but he's played better Monte like it or not.

Is there any hope for Troy Apke at safety? I never saw him play. He had some pretty nice measurables at the combine.

I don’t know much about him but the way people talk around here, he was a throw away pick. Good for special teams but not much else. I think people said he stunk in pre season before getting hurt.

I don't think so. He is a workout warrior.

No instincts at all.

I'm not even going to give HHCD any credit, he's been trash, and so was Montae.

he was brought in to lift the defense...he hasn't. he has to squeeze the int sunday, he has to tackle cooper in dallas, he hasn't made these plays.

Safety is a problem again with HaHa and Swearinger both gone. Montae facing a likely suspension and has been injured in some capacity his first 2 years in the league. Apke garbage pick, cant play...he couldn't play in college.

lotta work there.

Couple things...the Free Agency class is solid and the Draft class has some players.

Also look at the trend lately, there were some decent guys late into free agency.

You could go get a solid player like Tre Boston for cheap or maybe spend a little more and get Honey Badger.

Swearinger and HaHa not working out could be a blessing in disguise. But again, do I trust the worst NFL executive in the league to improve the team?

Too early to tell on Apke.

Seems that fans never learn when it comes to judging players in their rookie years.

Fair, but at this point in his career, he isn't going to have much of an opportunity to develop football instincts.

Training camp and pre-season are going to be his chances to develop, not show what he has.

https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.cbs...enn-state/amp/

His scouting report is what he has shown in the NFL so far. Not saying it's impossible, but drastic improvement is definitely an uphill struggle.

I think only playing safety 1 year in college really hurts him. He doesn't have that repetition and muscle memory.

There are a TON of top tier safeties available in FA. All 30 or younger. Earl Thomas, Landon Collins, LaMarcus Joyner, Tyrann Mathieu.

I think they’ll look there to address it, and maybe give HHCD a full offseason to work in the defense before giving up on him.

I’m still kinda butthurt we didnt draft Collins especially since he grew up idolizing ST. I know he wasn’t the type of safety we were looking for at the time but... come on.
