Re: Lavar Gone
Is there anyone who thinks that Lavar will make less next year because he turned down the Redskins offer? PFT (insert various disclaimers) says that he would have to get a 10.9 million bonus +545k base salary in order to break even. What are his prospects on the open Market? I think that coaches around the league would have questions based on his performance the last two years. Perhaps this is the reason for the Marty rumors.

Re: Lavar Gone
i was reading the thing from PFT on the eagles site. Do we save 10 point whatever million? If so this is amazing. I feel bad for lavar though. This is more the coaches faul than his. Maybe I haven't got a chance to hear the coaches(i missed dale lindsey on bram so if someone could say some key points) and I am just taking lavar's word for it. Could it be true he really did this for the skins.

Re: Lavar Gone

Given that the NFC East rivals are all in the market for OLBs and Arrington wants to play in the NFC East, who does he go to? Cowboys, Eagles, or Giants? I say he goes to the Cowboys (even though he says it might tough to go there and he ended Aikman's career). He'd love that sort of drama. |

Re: Lavar Gone
Bram Weinstein on the John Tompson radio show today: "The Redskins made the right offer and Lavar made the right decision."
I enjoyed watching him play, but he ceased to be the key linebacker two seasons ago. That honor belongs to Marcus Washington. I'd be upset if Washington left. I notice the Skins do not keep a player who does not want to be here: Coles, Gardiner, Bailey, now Arrington. Maybe he signs with the Ravens. R. Lewis is outta there and they may be interested. Then he gets to stay in the area. I hear he has a big house on the Chesapeake. Thank you, Lavar, for all you've done. I wish the best for your career -- unless you sign with a NFC East team. |

Re: Lavar Gone
If someone had told me a few seasons ago that Champ, Smoot, Coles, and Arrington would be gone, I would have told them they were crazy.

Re: Lavar Gone
Everybody wants to hate on the guy, but fact is fact he is going to be so motivated to get back to his old self. He is going to sign with a NFC east team, and as Wilbon said this morning, Parcells mouth is watering seeing that 56 on the free agent market. For some reason we failed to use LaVar in ways that would maximize his talent. If Parcells signs him, you watch out. the guy will make plays all day long. I just have a very bad feeling about him saying he wants to walk back into fed x once a year. All 3 NFC east teams are looking for OLB, so its a very high percentage he will sign with one of those teams. Its going to turn out to be one of the stupidest moves of all time for the Redskins.
