Re: Favre seeks release from Packers (updated)
it's kind of retarded they can force him out of football like that.
i mean, they have to pay him 12mill a season to do it, but still... |

That's retarded, if I'm Favre I'm definitely showing up to camp.

Re: Favre seeks release from Packers (updated)
The Packers are in a no win situation here. First interception Rogers throws, fans will be screaming for Favre.

Re: Favre seeks release from Packers (updated)
Is this a fact? Or are you just assuming? I read in the article that he was heading there to try and work things out with Favre before things got any uglier.

Re: Favre seeks release from Packers (updated)
ESPN reported that he went down there to tell him...excuse me, politely ask Favre to keep his ass at home!

Re: Favre seeks release from Packers (updated)
The Packers are in panic mode right now. Their solution is to beg him to stay home?! What a joke.

At this point I feel like Farve should just buy and Arena League team and he can play as long as he damn well pleases.

Re: Favre seeks release from Packers (updated)
The Packers handled this well until they told him (supposedly) they don't want him in camp. If they let him report as 2nd string qb & didn't say anything else, they could still gracefully bench Rodgers if by the end of camp they thought Farve had earned the job back. Or they could just see how he likes being 2nd string.
IMO the latter would've been the smart thing to do, even if it puts pressure on rodgers. I keep forgetting that this team went to the nfc championship last year. You'd think they'd want their vet qb back to get them to the super bowl. This was personal from the get go, they were tired of being jerked around by Farve for 3 years, now they're returning the favor. But the way they've acted this week, they're starting to make it an even bigger problem for the team than it was at the start. |

Re: Favre seeks release from Packers (updated)
If GB is really trying to prevent him from playing ANYWHERE, then yes, he should show up and make them play him, cut him or trade him to another team.

Re: Favre seeks release from Packers (updated)
Thank God Favre has provided a story line for those sports journalists who prefer not to actually discuss football. I don't know why they don't just buy dresses and watch Days of Our Lives. It's also unfortunate that Mark Murphy has gotten draged into this. He's a smart guy, though, and perhaps he can broker some sort of solution.

Re: Favre seeks release from Packers (updated)
All i know is Murphy is praying that Aaron Rodgers has one helluva season because if he doesnt alot of fans aren't going to be very happy knowing we could have put in a Brett Favre who can obviously still play (especially with his success last year going 13-3). I just can't wait till all this drama is over with

Re: Favre seeks release from Packers (updated)
I don't care what happens as long as he doesn't end up on the Vikings. I bet if they offer a first round pick right now they can get him.
