Re: Cowboys cut T.O.
True, but I bet someone is going to pick him up and give him a good contract. Initially when all these teams came out and said no to him, I was hoping that it would continue like that and he would eventually sign somewhere for the vet min. Now that there are apparently teams interested in him, I bet Rosenhaus will find a team to give him a good contract.

Re: Cowboys cut T.O.
Why should he play for vet-min? He's still one of the best WR's in the league. I hope he finds a team outside of the NFC East. And continues his career. From a fan of Football in general. I enjoy watching TO play.

^ I agree much like WWE the NFL needs it's balance of faces and heels in order to make the story lines flow.

Re: Cowboys cut T.O.
While being an above average receiver, T.O. made his own bed by alienating
himself from his coaches and team.... Maybe a hard edged system would help him re-ignite his career. |

Re: Cowboys cut T.O.
Maybe they will let girls play soon. I've never seen "destructive behaviour" from TO. Just a guy with a desire to play and win. There are a lot worse players on the field with a more questionable character than TO. Where ever he goes, that team will be better. Payton and TO would be extreamly dangerous. And exciting. As long as he isn't in our lockeroom. I don't care. He's a great football player and very entertaining

Im quoting myself here from a earlier post: Quote:
When JJ said "You didn't hear about those things when we were winning" says a lot about how much of this BS about TO was manufactured by the media and guys on the team afraid of losing there jobs. Cutting TO was the easy answer and everyone agrees with it. "OF COURSE" I can be way off here. But probably not to far. IMO Last edited by 44ever; 03-06-2009 at 08:45 PM. |

And to JJs comment, I think it just shows either a) how out of touch he is becoming or b) how well he tries to spin things. TO was a media story the whole time, and every little incident brought the media in saying "This is TO's cancer" and players definitely sided one way or the other. 44 you also said that he and Peyton would be extremely dangerous, and I think you are dead on that one. that is the one team I think he would absolutely lift to the SB next year. And after a SB win, who knows how it would go. Imagine if TO and McNabb HAD won that SB, do you think they would have had a melt down? I am not so sure. And to be clear I think the SB loss was definitely on McNabb not TO. Wow I am rambling now... |

Re: Cowboys cut T.O.
I hope to God we don't pick him up, but let's face it someone will. He may not be the receiver he used to be but he's still better than most of the WRs in the league right now. Plus he'll put fans in the seats (not really a problem in the NFL) and his merchandise will sell. Point being he's still one of the faces of the NFL like it or not. Just look at all the responses to this thread and watch NFL Network or ESPN...he's always the story.
I think a contender would be "wise" to sign him to a 1 year deal (with individual and team incentives). He's proven to be a pretty good citizen in his first year with a new team and being his age he really wants a championship. HAIL!!
