As for the other AMC show, I think this last season of Breaking Bad (season 3) was some of the best TV I've ever seen. The acting and the writing were unbelievably good. The plot twists and character developments have been amazing. I can't believe it took so long but AMC confirmed that there will be a 4th season last week so it will be really interesting to see where they go with the story.
So what's everyone's take on the upcoming season in Madmen? or should we wait for this discussion until saden catches up?

As for Breaking Bad, I caught a couple of shows and liked them. I may have to go back and rent the first two seasons. Part of the problem is that, unless my wife likes a show, it's kinda of hard to find time to watch anything on my own (After getting the kids to bed, its 8:00 - 9:00 and there is generally still work to do). I am not sure Breaking Bad is her thing, but I see if season one is out and try to coax her into it. As long as it doesn't start w/ blood & gore she may get hooked.

I watched the first episode of Breaking Bad and really liked it, didn't really watch it again until I caught a couple of episodes on demand last week. Enjoyed it, but definitely need to go back and watch older episodes.

But I'm in the same boat as you, usually easier to watch shows that both my wife and I like. Not sure Breaking Bad would make her cut. She saw a couple of episodes of The Tudors on the plane though, and kind of wants to see that series.

If you're going to watch Breaking Bad I would say you HAVE to watch the first two seasons. The first season, while a bit slow at times, was only like 6 or 7 episodes because of the writers strike but it sets up the story. The writers have also been very good about bringing up little references to past events. Also, season 1 ends with a cliffhanger which is where season 2 picks up. In fact, I think the timeline between all three seasons is within a year or so.

I pretty much do the same thing though, except more with OnDemand than DVR since our only DVR unit has only a single tuner and I just chip in a bit on the bill

either that or I download the ep's

I think you are watching reruns, I use to love that show but was pretty sure it canceled.

re: What Shows Are You Watching?

This is a +infinity for Breaking Bad- kudos to some of you who watched a few episodes here and there to test it out... but like The Wire, you've gotta start from the beginning. No turn is unaccounted for during the series and the writing is the best on current television.

Walter White and Jesse Pinkman are two of the most complex characters ever. And you'll love the side characters (Saul and the cleaner, come to mind).

re: What Shows Are You Watching?

So I decided to start watching Friday Night Lights. Watched the first episode last night on Netflix and was blown away. Can't believe I haven't been watching all along.
