Re: 2011 NFL Draft
That would be the bomb Matty if we could get a Suh type of guy to help out Orakpo. Luck and Green are gone for sure, and probably the QB from Missouri. Tony Shaw has bumped him up to the second best QB in the draft as of last night. That could change if Newton shoots some duck next week. I think if the Mizzou QB stays in we can get him next season or get a potential steal in the 2nd or 3rd round in a guy like Persa(if healthy), or some similar QB talent that is solid. |

Re: 2011 NFL Draft
Only a few SS... I've been on other projects, but I watched Locker last night. I think with talent around him and some good coaching he'll be a pro bowl QB in the NFL.
His passing stats were not impressive, but he forced no throws and is very athletic.

Re: 2011 NFL Draft
Call me crazy but I'm actually pretty happy that Locker didn't play well, at least passing wise, against Nebraska. I mean the guy already has four years of tape, so technically the impact of a meaningless bowl game should be minimal. Plus thanks to the large sample size we can actually get a better idea of what type of player we'll be drafting come April, unlike certain QB's that are currently protected by small sample sizes. By the way I'm actually pulling for a certain QB to blow up at a certain Fiesta so his stock is JaMarcus Russel high by the time April roles around.
Not to mention the fact that we now won't only have to trade up but now we might even be able to trade back and recoup draft picks. Anyway the fact of the matter is that there were probably a lot of teams that were already gunshy about Locker and the teams lacking great offensive coaches/system/players are probably going to end up looking elsewhere for a signal caller.

Day two sleeper: Mike Pouncey
Put him back at guard and we've got a potential pro-bowler that's awesome in space. |

Re: 2011 NFL Draft
What? Day 2? Are you sure you don't mean second round, because Pouncey comes with a first round grade like his brother.

I'm liking this Andy Dalton kid from TCU, he's a gamer.

Re: 2011 NFL Draft
I was watching the Fla. PSU game and I think the center from Fla would be a PERFECT fit here. His name is Pouncey, his bro plays and starts for Pittsburgh. High character guy, he's a leader, he can play both guard and center, he's fast as hell...guy was pulling a ton, this would be the perfect pick. Outside of Luck none of these QB's do anything for me. I say get some linemen first.

Re: 2011 NFL Draft
Small little 9,000 student TCU is really impressive. Their defense is well coached and very disciplined. I like their LB's and safety's play. They fill so well in the run game.
I also like how hard and well their RB's run. |
