He got a medical redshit or whatever its called, he had only played in 2-3 games. So it happened early in the season. No idea about how long it was until he was practicing and all that stuff.

What are you gonna do... fire Shanahan over a guy getting injured? I think that would be going a tad overboard.
You can't blame him 100%. Let's just do this, cut RG3, fire Shanahan, and fire Dr. Andrews. F em all. |

But this isn't a play call that wasn't right or not executed perfectly or a hindsight is 20/20 -- I cannot find a single person anywhere DURING the game that said he should be in there. Collectively it was such an obvious decision that I assumed Kirk Cousins puked up so much from his flu he couldn't see right. I guess i'm just bummed that after a whole season of not looking competent with drama, or crazy high-priced agents etc etc, that on the last game of the year, such a bad decision could be made. |

I keep Andrews, seems like a nice guy. Otherwise great idea.

Re: As long as RGIII is 100% for 2013 training camp...
This is all speculative, but lets say RGIII recovers pretty well and is physically able to play with a brace of some kind in the season opener next year. You know... he can play the way he's played the past month (excluding yesterday). My CONCERN is RGIII would absolutely try to get on the field, and Shanahan has demonstrated multiple times this year he thinks a 50% RGIII is better than a 100% Cousins. I'm worried he would end up playing, only to be hurt again.
I WOULD HOPE that this injury has taught RGIII and Shanahan a lesson they will not forget, and that RGIII shoudl not play AT ALL unless he can play 100% without any kind of brace. As we saw Sunday, the brace slipped out of position, and thats probably what resulted in this injury. I would rather RGIII sit the entire 2013 season and roll with KC as our starter than risk having him at 50% for 8 games and then miss the other 8 due to another season-ending injury. When 100% healthy, RGIII is INCREDIBLY more dangerous than most other quarterbacks in the league, including Kirk Cousins. But at anything less than 100%, i dont think there's that much of a difference. Yes, he's our franchise quarterback, but that doesnt mean we should play him when it doesnt give our team the best chance to win.

Also on those stats, pretty amazing how they seem right in line with his NFL stats. Hmm, imagine that.

I wish people would just get off the stupid "gotta blame somebody" bandwagon. What happened happened. Get over with. Nobody to blame. It's not going to magically heal Griffin's knee.

But show me someone who said "Griffen gives them the best chance to win this game and should be in." I found one: Shanahan. |

Ed Werder @Edwerderespn
Redskins have one of NFL's best coaches and world's greatest orthopedic surgeon on sideline and let 22-year-old kid decide whether he plays?

"Not at all,'' Moss said. "Robert's our starting quarterback, if he can go at 60%, he's better than half the guys out there. He could barely run the last three weeks and he's still hard to catch. Added receiver Pierre Garcon: "You have to live or die with your quarterback if he says he can play,'' receiver Pierre Garcon said. "If he feels he can help the team, we gave him the say so. You don't want to second guess your quarterback.''

Exactly. To me it's already over and done with. If RG3 can't start 2013 then Kirk Cousins will be the starter. Just an FYI... Cousins can play and he's already proven that he can play at a high level. I would expect him to play even better next year. |
