Re: Around the League: Week 2
If the Redskins dont have a counter run play in their playbook, they really need to add one this week.

Re: Around the League: Week 2
Well some maybe. I think the majority of the racist stuff is directed at DS as he is the owner and one with the authority to change the name. A man punches a woman or beats a child he is a wife beater. He is a child abuser. There is no gray area. I root for a team that a minority of the entire population deem to have racist roots to its nickname does not make me a racist. If some blowhole is saying it does on some website he is stupid and should go away. Lol. |

I'm saying I expect them to overreact on anything moving forward in an attempt to win back some PR - or at least not lose anymore. |

have you read the washington post lately? twitter? have you seen what simply responding to a tweet from the Redskins about an upcoming game leads to? |

So when you said you hope no Redskin gets caught in a hard to explain situation that had nothing to do with Rice or AP? When you said that the league is overreacting to everything rite now that had nothing to do with Rice or AP? Come on man. |

I didn't say the league is overreacting to everything right now. I'm actually surprised the league hasn't done anything about peterson, though I expect the second indictment to do something. I expect them to over react right now on future issues. I may be wrong. |

Do you have a problem with reading comprehension? I cannot figure how you keep confusing what I'm saying. Maybe you're just reading what you want to read? |

See I dont believe they will over react I believe they will react properly now because they have egg on their face. Although it would have been nice to have justice served without being caught trying to cover it up Im ok with the fact that the court of public opinion will have justice served regardless. |

though my thought for years has been that trying to legislate behavior outside of the field is a tricky one and i expect it's just a matter of time before they slip up again. if it wasn't for the video the NFL would have gotten away completely free with their nonsense on the Rice issue. Don't forget that. Apparently there's a lot of people that don't understand what it takes to knock someone out, and just having a video of him dragging her out of the elevator unconscious wasn't enough. They needed to actually see him hit her to get angry and for the NFL to feel any pressure. Domestic violence with NFL players is not new. There's an unfortunately long history of it. It wasn't such a social issue until now... I'm curious how many people demanding Rice be run out of the league are bears fans with marshall jerseys. Or pay pay per view for floyd mayweather fights. Or any of the other ways people in sports guilty of domestic violence are being financially supported. Anyways... i'm skeptical at best that the result of this is going to be proper reaction from the league. But maybe that's just because I've grown to hate the league for the last 5 years |

You just quoted me above and followed it up with .... Some? Maybe? Completely mocking the fact that I said SOME people are referring to us as racists MAYBE. Now you have in almost the same breath agreed with me by saying that SOME are?!? I have a problem with reading comprehension only when I what i am reading is incomprehensible. |

Well some maybe. That's what you said. Which seems to imply that there's a chance it's not even going on. Go read twitter. Deadspin. a Wise article. It's going on, it's quite a few people. It's not everyone, it's not even half of the people that want the name changed, but it's certainly much more than "well some maybe" So yes. It's some people. But no, there's no maybe about it. And no, at no time did I imply that 'everyone' that wants the name changed is calling us racists. I'd prefer it if you stop trying to restate my opinions for me. |
