I like Coach Gibbs and Coach Williams, but this is one time I want them to go home kicking themselves for not figuring out how to use a player. |

It will be interesting to see if Coughlin or Reid will want him as well. Coughlin could be swayed by AP for or against lavar, & Reid & co. might not want to take on another attention seeking ego w/baggage after their TO debacle. |

Re: Lavar Gone
You act like LaVar is a disruption to the team. There are going to be a ton of teams out there trying to bring him in. They wont need to be persuaded into signing him. Right now there is said to be 10 teams, all the NFC east teams are some of them. Parcells, not interested in #56, are you crazy! He is the mold of LT, passionate, looking to kill the QB, fast, strong, great athlete. I think it will be hard for him not to sign him.

Re: Lavar Gone
Saying he didn't play within the system isn't hating, it's the truth. Ask any of his coaches going back to Penn State, that's always been the constant knock on his game. He relies too heavily on his natural abilities, that's fine for some coordinators but obviously it's not what Gregg Williams and the rest of our defensive staff wants.
Best of luck to him, but I don't think he'll be missed around here. He missed a large part of the past two years and our defense has been just fine. |

Re: Lavar Gone
Lavar has passion for the game. He biggest problem was the redskins prior to gibbs he had a differnt d-coordinator almost every year and never got comfortable in any system. He loved the skins. if anybody in here went to a home game last season even when he wasnt playing he getting the crowd pumped up. i remember before the philly game on sunday night before kick-off they showed him on the big screen in the stadium and Fed-Ex got pumped up even more. I hate to see him go because i dont want to have to play him twice a year he is going to be out to prove the skins wrong about his ability.

He's handled his parting of ways very very well, and he's always been completely clean off the field and been good with the media. BUT, he never liked film study and never made much of an attempt to improve his game. he didn't use move (rip, tear, spin) when rushing the QB as much as trying to bowl people over. lindsey probably got pretty pissed becauses out of all the LBs here, he was the only one that didn't work on technique or field awareness. He's been living on his natural talent thusfar and the problem, of course, is once you get hurt and slow down your advantage over other players becomes much less noticeable. sean taylor also has the same type of crazy talent, but he's been working on technique and film study, and he's already making plays like he did in college. |

Re: Lavar Gone
My uncle is an orthopedic surgeon who's talked to those close with his knee conditon. He seems to believe his career is nearing an end. If you take a hard look at him last season you can see he lost a step. I think it was a good move to release him.... Arrington has the heart of a lion, but with a bum knee I think he'll trickle away.

I think that is surprising. I feel we lost someone important to the team but i don't feel he really mattered in production. |

Re: Lavar Gone
I think that part of the conflict here is that while all of us put our hearts into the Skins, there are also certain players out there that many of us pull for independent of teams: Arrington, Bettis, Donovan McNabb, Warrick Dunn. Guys who are terrific players and great men. It sucks to see one of them get caught in a position like this. I'm a big fan of Lavar as much for his character as for his animal instincts on the field. I just wish things could have worked out here for him and that we could have kept such a "character guy" as one of the Redskin faces. We might find another player who can step in and play, but there is more to a guy like Lavar than just QB Kills. Like I said before, it will be strange seeing HIM in a different uniform.
