Cowboys | Team lands Fabini
Fri, 17 Mar 2006 20:33:48 -0800

ESPN.com's John Clayton reports the Dallas Cowboys agreed to a three-year, $6 million contract with free agent OT Jason Fabini (Jets). Clauses in the contract could grow the deal to $7.5 million over the three years. Fabini will be moved to right tackle with the Cowboys and fix one of the team's biggest problems last season.

I don't like the roids signing people that could help them :/

Jets | Team can look at other positions in the first-round of the NFL Draft
Fri, 17 Mar 2006 22:31:13 -0800

Dave Hutchinson, of the Star-Ledger, reports the acquisition of QB Patrick Ramsey by the New York Jets Friday, March 17, means it's almost certain the Jets will not use their first-round pick (fourth overall) on a quarterback in the April NFL Draft. Now, they'll likely target Virginia OT D'Brickashaw Ferguson or North Carolina State DE Mario Williams.

There's no way Ramsey is going to be their quarterback for the future.

Dolphins | Team only discussed preliminary numbers with Arrington; price is too high
Sat, 18 Mar 2006 07:16:13 -0800

Armando Salguero, of the Miami Herald, reports the Miami Dolphins have spoken with free agent LB LaVar Arrington (Redskins) and preliminary numbers were discussed, according to an NFLPA source. The Dolphins' priority is clearly Arrington, who visited last week. But Arrington's asking price is reported to be in the $6 million-a-year range, which is probably too rich for Miami.

Cowboys | Contract update: T. Owens
Sat, 18 Mar 2006 13:21:41 -0800

ESPN.com's Len Pasquarelli reports the three-year contract signed by WR Terrell Owens with the Dallas Cowboys provides him the opportunity to be one of the highest-paid wide receivers in NFL history over a three-year period, and the chance to earn more than he would have under his contract with the Philadelphia Eagles. The contract can be worth as much as $25 million if Owens plays through the deal and Dallas opts to pay him pricey roster bonuses in the springs of 2007 and 2008. Owens will earn a bonus of $5 million for this season and a base salary of $5 million, for total compensation of $10 million. Dallas must then pay Owens a roster bonus of $3 million in March 2007 to retain him for that season, at a base salary of $5 million. There is another roster bonus of $3 million due in March 2008, and Owens has a base salary of $4 million for that year.

Cowboys | Seven teams after Owens
Sat, 18 Mar 2006 12:59:00 -0800

Agent Drew Rosenhaus said seven teams were after WR Terrell Owens and willing to pay him top dollar before he signed with the Dallas Cowboys. He said the Cowboys stepped up and made a commitment to Owens so he chose to sign there. Rosenhaus said the two sides have already started bonding. He says that Owens is looking at a very bright future. Also, all incidents that have occurred with Owens have been put in the past.

Cowboys | Jones says Parcells on board with Owens' signing
Sat, 18 Mar 2006 12:58:30 -0800

Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said head coach Bill Parcells is on the same page as him with regards to the team signing WR Terrell Owens. Parcells was away and not at the press conference announcing the signing of Owens by the Cowboys.

Cowart's pretty one dimensional. I don't think he's a good pickup at all. Hopefully we spend somewhere else.

yeah, he used to be pretty good, but he's old and slow now and its obvious.
I think they looked at him cause of his previous experience making calls in a GW defense.

Texans | Kubiak really wanted Givens
Sun, 19 Mar 2006 06:48:04 -0800

Ron Borges, of the Boston Globe, reports Houston Texans head coach Gary Kubiak had listed WR David Givens as his No. 1 offensive target in free agency. Givens wound up signing with the Tennessee Titans.

Buccaneers | Team to visit with T. Carter
Browns | Team may speak again with Carter's agent

so, the giants may lose a fairly unimportant part of their WR corp, kubiak couldn't beat out the TITANS in signing a player (ouch), and evans is still looking for money.
