Re: King predicts Haynesworth to Redskins
Here's the link to the guy in Houston who sounds fairly certain that Haynesworth is a done deal.
Apparently his source here is the same one who provided him with advanced knowledge of Scott Pioli going to K.C. He writes for the Houston Chronicle -- guess that means he's not just a 'tard with a blog. |

Re: King predicts Haynesworth to Redskins
im really on the fence about this one. Of course you have the question marks about big albert's character, health issues, and that he is 27 about to be 28. But then i think when i see this guy on sundays he makes bodies drop, the guy is the best in the league at what he does and can make our 4th ranked defense ALOT better (picks, and sacks all day). I really dont know if I am in favor of this or not.

Re: King predicts Haynesworth to Redskins
The logic to go after Haynesworth is actually way more solid than anyone else in the free agent market -- but it also flies directly in the face of the build through the draft face we've been holding for the past year, so maybe we're just reverting back to an inevitable form.

Re: King predicts Haynesworth to Redskins
Generally speaking, I don't like the idea either -- let's find our own Albert Haynesworth who's hungry and eager to prove himself, then let someone else shell out a hundred million for him five years down the road when we've gotten the best out of his playing days.
Then again ... there might be small shred of hope with this deal. If we have a #4 ranked defense with absolutely zero pressure on the quarterback, and we can keep our secondary intact, then theoretically Haynesworth could take our D to a level that we haven't seen in years. And you can basically forget about any linebacker problem. A guy like this paired with young, fresh upstarts like Montegomery and Golston make average linebackers look a whole lot better. That's the thing about a great D-line -- it can turn ho-hum linebackers into Pro Bowlers. The one thing you shudder to think about though, is another Dana Stubblefield-type situation. |

Let's not forget the Lions HC is Swartz, the former DC in Tennesee. They're showing a lot of interest and are expected to be a player in this.
