His sources were expecting a trade and were guessing it was for a 3rd rounder. Trade didn't happen nor was a 3rd rounder even a price worth considering. They were wrong on both counts.

No one can go around saying "We expected a trade to happen, but it didn't happen, so we were right, a trade did happen" and expect to be taken seriously.

It just so happens our coaches believe in their superiority so much they've convinced themselves they can create a better defense not built around the best defensive player, as opposed to building around him. No, he said the Skins were trying to trade AH - and the insinuation from JLC was always that it was the Skins who were initiating the discussions and/or seeking a trade patnter. Instead, the Skins didn't initiate discussions and rather, as Smoot said, were simply picking up the phone and listening to other teams talk. JLC reports were at best speculation being reported as fact based information and at worst intentionally disengenous.
