It's better that way. Dallas has completely different needs and on top of that I would imagine that we pick ahead of them in the second round.

Due to the 4 opponants Dallas played who's strengths were better then the 4 teams the Skins played Dallas gets the #9 spot.

Basically Dallas won by like .5 of a point or something like that.
Right, except that its reverse strength of schedule. So teams with tougher schedules pick later, the assumption being if team A has an easier schedule, and ties with team B who has a harder schedule than Team A is the "more bad" team. Thus Dallas had an easier schedule than ours ( the 2 teams different were dallas:arizona(5-11),new orleans(11-5) and skins:St.Louis(7-9),Tampa bay(10-6)), so by 1 combined win our SOS was harder than Dallas'. if it had been tied it would have been done by coin flip.

That's a very good point.

We'll pick behind them in the 2nd. We move up one pick per round in rounds 1-4, then we drop seven picks deeper in round five and move up one pick in the sixth and seventh rounds.

The one round we pick ahead of Dallas is the 4th. Or more specifically, Philly picks ahead of Dallas in that round.

Possibly, but I doubt it. I wouldn't

I think we have wayy too many holes to worry about drafting a running back in the second round. Not like he'd be there though. And with Shanny's history of plucking a RB out of the latter rounds if we do get one I'd think we'd use a late round pick on him.

Agreed, and I'd also add that the Shanahans have developed the same ability to develop diamonds in rough at receiver. However even I'll admit that I'm intrigued by guys like Blackmon, Green, and Baldwin at Receiver. Especially if a guy like Baldwin was available in the second round.

However I think it's safe to say that one of the first two picks needs to be a guy that can play among the front 5 on defense and I'm all but sure that no one early in this draft is ready to step in at nose tackle, at least in terms of the traditional mold (ie if any of these early round prospects were to play nose they would have to work on gaining a good 20 to 30 pounds)

agreed. Unless we pick up some extra picks, our 5th rounder would be the earliest we'd take a rb I would think. I actually don't think the rb depth is that shabby compared to some other positions. I really would like to see CP stay for a reduced rate, Torain keeps healthy & Williams & Davis make the roster or PS too. In 2012 get a rb of the future in the early rounds.

There are rarely ideal situations for players. Coaches and systems come and go, having a guy like Peyton Manning play in one offense his entire career is not the norm. And with a guy like PM, he probably would have still thrived if he had played in a few different systems.

Talent and the drive to succeed trump coaching in my opinion.
Youre probably right, but 25% is still a huge number. To adequately get adjusted, i think we give locker time. I think Mallett would be okay to start from the get-go but i dont know if he will ultimately end up better.

Unfortunately we don't have a second rounder unless you know something I don't know...
