No. But at the same time he does. I don't care where you are picked, or if you are even pick at all. If you get to try out for the team, you have a chance to start. If you do better than your competition, you start, its as simple as that.

But there is zero expectation that Cousins will compete for the starting job.

Les Miles going off on NFL Network about how his former Defensive Back coach is now an NFL coach with Tampa. Please Les, be more obvious. I can't tell if you're in recruiting mode.

If RGIII goes out with a knee injury...

DC's heart would be broken, and we'd be back to the drawing board with Rex.

I like it.
I agree, at least if RGIII is injured we still have some hope. Otherwise we know we're stuck with Grossman again.

Re: 2012 NFL Draft Day 3

Let Cousins have a monster pre season coupled with RG3 struggling a little bit. This is Washington folks, the controversy will be on like neck bones.

Think about it...otherwise we'd be stuck taking a stab at colt mccoy, clausen etc.

welcome to the skins cousins

Re: 2012 NFL Draft Day 3

Also, we trade down two spots in the 3rd and get a 7th.
we trade down 18 in the 4th and get a 6th.

I guess it's the number of slots as opposed to the round, but it just seems like the 3rd round trade should have netted more. - Not objecting, just think it's odd.

BTW - I am all about adding picks. It's a pick f'ing crapshoot so just keep adding rolls of the dice. It's not like we are trading out of the rounds all together so for a slight decrease in percentages, we get an extra roll. I really like how this FO handles the draft - just from a pick accumulation basis.

Re: 2012 NFL Draft Day 3

If RG3 can't beat out a 4th round pick, even one as talented as Cousins, he doesn't deserve to start.

Re: 2012 NFL Draft Day 3

The Panthers just traded a 6th this year and a 3rd next year for a 4th rounder and picked Adams who has had a stroke? The kid looks like a player but he could be out of football just as fast, that is a gamble.
