Re: Kirk Cousins pick 4.7
Personally, I'm 50/50 on this pick and pretty much agree with lots from both sides. One idea that I think is totally absurd is the opinion that the Skins should have drafted a "bad" QB to groom as backup? Makes no sense... you gotta get the best players on the team as possible. And its not like anybody was saying Cousins is the next Aaron Rodgers.
While I like the pick to have hopefully two really good QBs who are YOUNG and not passed their prime like McNabb was, I might have preferred like many here that they would have drafted where there was more need and then get another QB in the later rounds or next year. BTW... Skip Bayless is NOT an idiot and First Take is an excellent program for those who actually watch the whole show and not just short video clips. However, Skip was definitely wrong on this and made a big deal out of nothing imo. And to bring in the race card where there is none with this issue was really ridiculous as both Mangini and Stephen A. Smith told him. |

Re: Kirk Cousins pick 4.7
First Take has become a shell of what it once was. Too much talent is being wasted there and I know there's a lot of frustration
As for Cousins, when are we getting the avatar???!!!!

Re: Kirk Cousins pick 4.7
A 4th rounder becomes "a lot to spend" when you have a rookie quarterback (or two) to go along with no first round picks in the next two drafts

I have only seen him on this show and, each time I watched, he was a complete ass.

Re: Kirk Cousins pick 4.7
That doesn't change the quality of players you find in that round. They are still the lesser prospects, no matter how much you or the team wants them to be 1st round caliber players.

Which is all the more reason to get the quality depth now for the most important position on the team. Now, rather than trying to find a decent backup quarterback in future drafts, we can focus on skill positions and linemen. All the while developing a solid backup.

If Cousins reaches his potential he'll be a better back-up then Grossman and ulitmately be tradeable commodity. I've said it before I hope Cousin can become the back-up QB this year, it unlikey that a rookie QB wins the back-up job but it happens. BTW-I didn't twist your words you did that all by yourself |

Re: Kirk Cousins pick 4.7
Doesn't change the quality but it changes the quantity. More picks = more chances to get good depth.

Skip can't be a tool. Tools are useful. Skip on the other hand is not.
