I just think there was a bunch of bad, uneven officiating in this game. Even when they were getting chippy, I know I saw one player take at shot at an opponents helmet with a ref looking right at him. Sometimes reminded me of the St Louis game in how the refs handled it.
The within five yards wrestling matches.

It's kinda a shame that we started the season talking about the refs and the lockout, now the last game has some questionable calls to (both ways for sure, but that doesn't make it right).

I hope that whatever system they have put in place for grading and evaluation, next season sees better quality ref'ing all the way around.

I think thats a great play to jar the ball lose. I dont see anything wrong with that play.

I thought the refs last night did a nice job. They let em play and that's how it should be. I didn't see any ticky tack BS that you normally see. Well called game.

agree agree agree

Look, criticize the play call. A fade route to Crabtree on 4th down? Horrible and pathetic. Thats a first down playcall and you need to throw that to a physical reciever who knows create space. Crabtree is not close to that type of guy. Horrible playcall.

Nothing wrong w/ this play at all. Great play by Reed. Reed was all over the place last night. Good to see him get a ring.

Ed Reed is number 20, that isn't Ed Reed?

Sorry, I said Reed, it wasn't. As for a great play, I dunno, I thought you can't lead to the helmet of a defenseless receiver which is what I believe Crabtree was, otherwise it should have been a fumble out of bounds, not incomplete.

I am willing to bet that 22 sees a fine come his way for that one.

I really didn't have a big problem with the refs, I thought they let a little too much go but at the same time they called it fairly evenly for both sides. They let them play for the most part.

Re: Ravens v. Niners Super Bowl Thread

The refs did a great job. They did not call anything unless it was obvious. Which is how it should be. I hate when refs aren't sure but they throw the flag anyway. You see the ref look right at crabtree and Smith battling, Crabtree was engaging with Smith just as much as Crabtree was. I would have hated to see the same result of the Miami OSU national Championship game. SF played dirty and so did Baltimore. Refs let it go and let the players play. The best official is the quiet one. Going down 28-6 is what lost the game.

I agree about that, and honestly, no power outage, and I think that game remains a blowout. Imagine the crying that Bmore fans would be doing if they lost after the power outage. Might even be worse then them winning it.

I agree. Let them play. As long as they are calling the same game both ways. Which they were. Like the Seattle Redskins game. Physical play in the secondary. Let them play.
