Re: @ Giants Final Gameday thread of the year !
Kirk is a starting QB, and that is it. He has shown his max potential and like you said has no talent to work with. This guy hasn't done anything to warrant a raise, a raise mind you, that might keep us from getting better talent or keeping the guys that show promise. Do we keep a QB, but always have him surrounded by a rather talent deficient team, or dump the average QB and surround the new guy with a lot of talent? It is a damned if we do, damned if we don't type thing.

Is to say Baker won’t be the 1st QB picked by the Browns.

This has been a rag tag group almost since Gruden came aboard. Remember 2015? We were ravaged by injuries as well. Our FA Wrs stayed healthy for the most part.

Re: @ Giants Final Gameday thread of the year !
Thank goodness we didn’t play the Browns today. Could you imagine being the team to end both winless streaks? And it would have happened too.
I’ll bet Mara ensures we play the NYG at home every week 17 from now on. Crazy how bad we are in that setting. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Re: @ Giants Final Gameday thread of the year !
Like I keep saying, Kirk is baffling. There are one or two games a year where a truly top-10 QB needs to take control and make a statement. There are plenty of excuses for what happened today (blah, blah, blah), but Kirk has to own up to his part. I know he's the best statistical QB ever to play for us, but I don't trust him to win a playoff game.
Dan and Bruce have driven the bus into a ditch, and we're going to be here for a while.

Again I say if kirk would sign a salary cap friendly deal, then I say sign him. If not, then I say to get something for him and send him packing. He is not worth anywhere near 27 million. Colt can probably do that well and save us several million to get help else where. I would start with a top notch RB.

So what’s a “cap friendly deal” exactly?

This is really the jist of everything. It can be similarly phrased as how much is he worth? Unfortunately the answer is getting more difficult, not easier.

Re: @ Giants Final Gameday thread of the year !
We just paid him $24m this year so let’s add 10% and go from there. If you think he needs to take less you’re simply not being realistic.

I agree and 27-28 is what they should come to agreement on. Someone is going to offer that much. Over 28 and you have to consider letting him go.

I think Cousins could be better under a well established QB smart head coach.

Re: @ Giants Final Gameday thread of the year !
One thing I will say, don't let contract negotiations linger on. The team needs to start now in building for 2018. So, let's take the guessing game out of this and get a deal down right away, or let's plan to move on and put a plan in place for 2018. As much as I like Cousins, you can't allow him to string this along deep into the offseason.
