Re: How Many Games Should We Test Haskins?
But prior to the game, NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported that Washington could move on from Haskins if he didn’t play well against Baltimore. Haskins' agent, David Mulugheta, responded to that report on Twitter after the game.
Amazing this is the narrative coming out of DC. A young QB (10 starts total over 2 seasons) who is in a brand new system, with no off-season in said new system, a young OL, limited weapons on offense and only 3 games into the NFL season. Yet “he” is the one that must play well. https://t.co/6lAD0WGa2p — David Mulugheta (@DavidMulugheta) October 4, 2020 ------------ What is his agent trying to convince us of? Is his agent trying to make the case that Haskins shouldnt be starting under such conditions? That during a covid season with no real preseason for the inexperienced Qb .. that perhaps its to much to ask given the new coaches and we should go with an experienced vet?

Re: How Many Games Should We Test Haskins?
That ball must go to the end zone, no matter what. If everyone in the end zone is covered, then throw it high to your tallest receiver and hope he can bring it down.
Now, I think that play was a test for the coaches, as well. I have some questions I'd like to ask them about it: Coach Rivera, you decided to go on fourth down. Does that mean you were going for the touchdown this time? I ask because in other games you just let the clock run down and in effect said "Fuck it!". Maybe your young QB thought you just wanted to see if he would go through his progressions, which he did and ended up throwing it short of the end zone. I mean, how is he and the rest of the team supposed to know when you want them to try to score or win the game versus just practice running plays? Perhaps you should tell them prior to each game if you'll be trying to win that week. That should help them. Coach Rivera, why didn't you call a time out and make sure everyone was on the same page? Coach Turner, did you call a special play designed to confuse the defense? All coaches, did anyone remind your nervous young QB to throw it to the end zone? All coaches, did anyone encourage your young QB with a pat on the butt and a "Go get 'em!" to send him back into game? |

Well the defense still has to cover someone running a short route because if not they take it to the house. So you are drawing coverage away from the endzone. Haskins has to extend the play and put it in the endzone. Even an int there is ok. |

Who knows. But his valiant battle against cancer aside , and my personal feelings for him as a man (amazing you gotta even point this out but people like to accuse other people of being classless bitches if they dont) I do not like him as a coach. I do not like his in game coaching and I especially do not like his pressers. |

How Many Games Should We Test Haskins?

Everything his agent says there is true. He us up against it. The overwhelming problem is that the guy makes decisions and misses throws that me or you would connect on. He literally does things that me or you would not do and i have never played football let alone quarterback at OHIO STATE in my life. He isn’t exactly me is the point. You do not play quarterback at OHIO STATE if you are that unfamiliar with the simplest aspects of the position. Put Allen in next game. If Allen looks as bad or worse than put Haskins back in. You will be doing him a favor. Than people can say you know what it isn’t all Haskins. Plus he will no longer have the thought in his head that his job is on the line. At least not for this year. |

Re: How Many Games Should We Test Haskins?
Too many excuses from the Haskins camp.
Haskins makes a conscious effort to be a leader then goes on social media to argue with fans after the game. Now his agent is publicly saying his teammates suck ass. Not a good look from the face of the franchise. |

Re: How Many Games Should We Test Haskins?
Here are the things that we get by keeping Haskins in, IF HE CONTINUES TO IMPROVE:
1. Convince our loser owner that Rivera is giving Haskins the due diligence to succeed, since Snyder & Allen drafted him, even with his gross lack of experience. 2. Make his value as trade bait go up, when we Draft a NEW QB in the 2021 draft! 3. Improve Haskins as the BACKUP QB for the team’s rookie QB next year, after a pre-season shootout. Rivera knows how good Allen is, as the backup. Unless Dwayne is really playing badly and/or regressing a lot we get NOTHING by putting in Allen except a victory of two more. We need a legitimate TE#1, WR # 2,3 (Inman is ok, but not the long-term answer) and at least one OT and at least one Safety. Those pieces can’t be obtained now, everything is picked clean. The team will need to use our best draft picks and trading players or BIG-Money FA pickups to fill these spots. I think Rivera could have used some FA money to get these players this season, but he wanted to see what we had. Now we know!! Playing Allen gets us nothing but one or two wins - there are just not enough weapons now. We get much, much by playing Haskins now - as trade bait, to keep Snyder happy, and as a backup next year. Haskins needs GAME EXPERIENCE more than anything. He hasn’t even had a rookie QB’s number of games yet. Both Haskins (2020) and Allen (2019 - Carolina) are at 80 QB rating. Haskins has a great deal more value as trade bait next year if he can improve. I DON’T think Haskin’s is the long-term answer at QB, but we may get Haskins to the point to be good trade material OR a good backup to our rookie QB next year. Unfortunately we have to suffer through he slow growth this season. But we need some new blood at critical positions to get better. We are not one player away from being a good team. Good news is out cap money situation will be GREAT next year ($33 mill - third best in NFL) and we’ll have great draft position it looks like. We are going to get an outstanding QB draft pick in 2021! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Re: How Many Games Should We Test Haskins?
Rookie QB Joe Burrow has never dressed, played or started in an NFL games before his first NFL start a month ago. No preseason ever. His first training camp was very limited compared to Haskins 2019 camp and preseason. The Bungles are not any better than WFT.
All rookie QB's are going through the same thing this year. The excuses for Haskins and that a rookie is playing better than him is telling. Drafting Haskins at #15 was a reach. |

Re: How Many Games Should We Test Haskins?
Joe Burrow will be a top 10 QB in the league for the next decade... Haskins needs to be compared to the likes of a Trubisky or a Lock.
