Re: Its time for joe to step down.

Wise points out clear coaching issues, i.e. clock mismanagement. Not having any timeouts left with 8mins left in the game??

I agree Gibbs isn't going anywhere. For now. But if this kind of crap keeps up, I don't see him staying after this year. If we continue to flounder and finish around 8-8 and miss the playoffs, you have to wonder. I'm getting tired of the same old excuses and same old coach speak. Back in year 2 of Gibbs V2.0, I was tolerant. We're going into week 11 of year 3. I want results. And we're not getting them. 3+ years is an eternity in the NFL. The Parcells experiment in Dallas only lasted 4 years, and he made the playoffs a few times.
What's weird though is we could totally right the ship and finish 8-8 and miss the playoffs, but we could also flounder around, drop our 3 remaining divisional games, finish 9-7 and still make the playoffs.

We should have had today's game, but there is a lot of football left to be played.

Hey, on any given Sunday, sure. But the past is a good predictor of the future.

The past usually is a good indicator of how we will perform in the future, but I'm not sure if the past indicates that we will be good or that we will stink it up. We've been wildly inconsistent. One minute our offense looks totally inept and the next second it looks dominant. The same can be said of the defense. This team has loads of potential, but capitalizes on such potential on an inconsistent basis. I think that it is reasonable to say that this team could go 1-7 or 7-1 down the stretch.

The next two weeks are going to be battles. Dallas is really cocky right now. We gotta get to Romo. I just saw next week's lines. Dallas is favored by 11. 11!!! No respect.

It's the Snyder curse. Ever since he's bought this team, it hasn't really mattered who's coached for us or played for us(usually hurt). As long as he owns this team, we will not see redskins standards. just my negative opinion after yet another tough loss....poor joe

The past says...we're average. So a little luck yields a 4-3 result, while the lack of a bit of luck yields 3-4.

That's the difference between 8-8 and 9-7, and likely the difference between playoffs and no playoffs.

Well, I don't know how much the author of this article embellished, but the tone seems to suggest the Joe Gibbs was completely demoralized after this loss.

The author also speculated that we'll have to win at least 4, maybe 5 of our remaining 7 to have a chance at the playoffs. If Gibbs is taking this personally and it's causing more introspection, then GOOD. Again, I'm glad Joe has brought stability to the team, but I want to win damn it.

Re: Its time for joe to step down.

My big knock on Gibbs is that the team seems lost in managing the clock, running the two minute drill, and at the goal line. That said, I saw more positives out of the O today than perhaps all year. JC was given an opportunity to stretch the field and Portis gashed the Eagles all day. For the first time all season, this looked like the Al Saunders offense in KC a few years back. Let's hope that is a trend that continues.

Re: Its time for joe to step down.

why call a draw play when JC was picking apart the eagles defense? should have tried to throw the ball into the endzone

I'm with you there - worst call of the game, which I vehemently criticized earlier. Some on this board actually believe that was a good call. Campbell's record in the red zone passing game speaks for itself - let the young man make a play!!!

Re: Its time for joe to step down.

i was excited that they were letting campbell finally play today, but going for a Fg instead of a touchdown is BS, it chance the whole game around.

Then let you 4 year old explain why detroit has a better record than we do, and we are head and shoulders better than they are....? You might want to check the standings.

That makes ZERO sense.
